NeutralHeath and wellness have become more an more important to me over the past few years. Dealing with an autoimmune disease and all the complications of that, have me searching for ways I can improve my over health. So much of our health and wellness start with our mouths… we all know how important it is to care for our teeth, but often forget that your gums matter too!!

Healthy gums are important for a healthy mouth and a healthy body! Gum disease changes the appearance of the mouth and can weaken the support for your teeth – Ain’t nobody got time for that!  And did you know that gum disease has been linked to diabetes, heart disease and other illnesses!

What are the best ways to avoid getting gum disease?
Remove as much plaque as possible every day, following the techniques and using the oral hygiene aids (toothbrushes, between-teeth cleaning aids, and rinses like the ones from Sunstar ) recommended to you by your dentist or dental hygienist. Always buy the best quality aids that you can afford and use them as instructed. Also, visit your dental office on a regular basis. Do not miss or postpone any check-up appointments. Working as a team, your dentist and dental hygienist can work with you to help keep your mouth healthy.

By arming yourself with the right dental products and by using them every day, scheduling regular check-ups, and being aware of how oral health relates to overall health, you’ll be well on your way to healthier teeth, healthier gums – and a healthier you! So don’t forget, your gums matter!

Gum Health… Are you doing enough to keep your mouth healthy and happy??
