13 resolutions for 2013

I have high expectations for 2013. I’m expecting it to be an amazing year of laughter, growth, achievement and fun! I’m going to be working hard to achieve my dreams this year and I’ve got 13 resolutions for 2013 to help keep my focused! I’ve broken them into 3 categories… Blog, Business and Personal.

Blog

resolution 1

I’ve got a couple of ideas for implementing and advertising/mentorship program. I don’t just want ads on my blog. I want to help smaller bloggers develop and achieve their goals as well as net work with other small business owners. The ideas are still rolling around in my head, but I am hoping to have everything figured out and implemented before the end of February. Goals with deadlines are good right? Here’s hoping that I can make it happen!

resolution 2

For some reason I seem to think that I need to post 7 days a week. And I know that’s not true. Heck I don’t even NEED to post monday to friday. I like posting that often, but its its just going to be some silly little random thing that I whipped up at the last moment, its really not necessary. I am toying with the idea of having a blogging schedule. Not sure if I want/would be able to stick to something like that, but it might be helpful for a while.

resolution 3

My ticket has been purchased! Happy Christmas, New Years, Valentines, Anniversary and Birthday to me! And yes, this is my “gift” for the next 8 months. The things I tell my husband in order to get what I want *sigh* Course I am hoping that by August he’ll have forgotten that I said that, and I’ll get to go on a shopping spree or something. 😉 For the next 3 months I am going to be working my tail feathers off in order to save up for the money to cover the hotel and other expenses. There will be sales in the shop (just saying)

resolution 4

I’ve actually been enjoying spending a little less time online lately. I never thought that would happen! I think that having “work hours” will help me stay focused on the task at hand. I’m easily distracted!

resolution 5

I think that finally getting my butt in gear and getting an editorial calendar together will help me take my content to the next level! I’ve got some cool ideas rattling around in this old, blonde brain of mine. Getting them down on paper and scheduled, might mean that I actually get them done and blogged!

Business

resolution 6

I’ve been playing around with a couple different crafting mediums and selling my creations in the shop. I’ve purchased a few patterns that I am able to make and sell. I am planning on adding handbags, new hat options, cowls and some new styles of jewelry to the shop! Some new things will even be added when I reopen in 2(ish) weeks! I’m pretty excited about the new things, so be on the look out for more details soon!

resolution 7

I’ve got my new logo/banner, business cards and branding tools. Now I need to focus on getting the shop name out there. I’m hoping to have a few people do reviews for me soon and I’ll be doing some advertising with new blogs too! If you’re interested in doing a possible review or exchanging product for advertising space, I’ll be posting about that soon!

resolution 8

One of my biggest life dreams is to be a professional photographer. I’ve done some work since I moved to Texas, but its been really slow. Its hard when you live in a place where you don’t know that many people. Hubs is determined to get a second vehicle this year and that will enable me to start booking sessions that don’t revolve around his work schedule (hallelujah!). If you’re in the DFW, Bowie, or Wichita Falls areas of Texas, I’ll be offering discounts and mini sessions before the end of summer! *fingers crossed*

Personal

resolution 9

Time to put the work hours into practice! I’m the type of person that NEEDS routine… and lately that has been significantly lacking. I need a bed time. I need a get-my-lazy-ass-out-of-bed-time. I need a Gym time. I need a schedule! Oh and I really need to start remembering to eat lunch.

resolution 10

I mentioned it earlier, but I haven’t been spending as much time chained to my laptop and I am really enjoying it! Getting into a routine and have set work hours will all help with this, but I am still going to have to make a point of shutting down the lap top. Real life waits for no blogger and I want/need to make more memories with my man! 🙂

resolution 11

Are you detecting a routine theme here? Cause sure am! One of the things I need to get better at is all this house keeping stuff. I’m not a fan of dishes, or laundry, or dusting, or mopping, or anything that remotely resembles cleaning. The days that I do well at those things are the days I make myself do them BEFORE I turn on the lap top or run errands.

resolution 12

This one is a toughy. Neither the hubs or I have really great spending habits. We like to get things immediately… and having to wait and save doesn’t sit so well. Especially with him. We’ve been partially successful at budgeting and saving this year. But it always seems like something that we didn’t budget for comes up and needs to be taken care of immediately. So we’re going to be reviewing the numbers and expenses from this past year and working on getting a better balance. Should be all kinds of accounting fun! *insert eye roll here*

resolution 13

This is kind of a vague resolution so I’m going to break it down into sub-resolutions or mini goals or whatever…

  • GYM! as in getting my butt there at least 3 times a week.
  • Better food choices… and way less junk! I was doing really well through the spring/summer and I need to get back into those habits.
  • More daily activity. I’m going to make a point to start walking the dog on a more regular basis and other little activity things through out the day. What good is going to they gym several times a week if I sit on my butt the rest of the time?
  • I want to lose at least 50 pounds this year (if not a WHOLE lot more) I’m starting with a smaller goal of 20 pounds by Blissdom and then I’ll work on the rest from there.

So there you have it! My 13 resolutions for 2013! I’m determined to make it one of the best years I’ve ever had! So brace yourselves… it might just get interesting around here 😉

Great list here! I hope 2013 is wonderful and full of blessings for you and your loved ones. By the way, #11 is one of my pitfalls as well. As I sit here, there is laundry to be done, dishwasher to be unloaded, dishes in the sink, blah, blah, blah, blah, BLAH!

Here is my list for 2013: http://nicoleandkevin.wordpress.com/2013/01/01/20…

    Hugs,
