Self Care Essentials for the Busy Entrepreneur

This post may contain affiliate or brand partner links. Read our full disclosure here.

If you’re a busy entrepreneur, you know the importance of caring for yourself. I’m sharing some of my self care essentials in case you need some inspiration for your own self care practice!

A lot of things have been shifting for my little family over the last 2 years. D retired from trucking and is running the businesses with me full time, we added another dog, we’ve done some major renovations to the house (with more to come this summer/fall!), and I launched a new biz (have you checked out everydayboss.com yet?)!

Needless to say, it’s been one heck of a ride! And with all of it has come more than a little extra stress. I’ve had to up my self care game BIG time the last 2 years. You know what they say… “New levels, new devils” 😉

I have some self care essentials that I use regularly. Maybe even religiously! I thought I’d share some of my self care favorites, essentials and practices to help inspire your own self care practice.

Self Care Essentials for the Busy Entrepreneur:

Meditation –

My all time favorite self care technique or practice is meditation. It’s something I’ve been doing regularly for the last 4 years. I mostly use the insight timer app, and have a handful of favorites that I cycle through regularly. I love the diversity of topics, styles and meditation lengths. There’s literally something for everybody and every level of practice.

I love meditating for a number of reasons: It grounds me. It reminds me to breath, and breath deep. Meditations helps my deal with anxiety, stress and the emotional roller coasters that seem to be an inevitable part of life. Basically, meditating regularly helps me not lose my shit on a daily basis.

Pampering –

My version of pampering runs the gauntlet! Anything from paid spa treatments (I do love a good deep tissue massage) to a foot soak at home. Both DIY and purchased products I can easily add to a bath, shower or bedtime routine. I also recently started prioritizing my skin care routine, making sure I leave space in my morning and before bed routines to care for my physical body. I’ve included a bunch of favorites in the shop small list below 🙂

White space –

Over the last year I’ve been getting a whole lot more intentional with my schedule. I’ve spent a lot of time perfecting my routine and building white space into my daily routine.

White space leaves separation between the content, it makes the important things stand out, and it creates balance.

Meredith A. King

White space is the room we leave in our schedules and lives that help us reflect, pause, ground ourselves and ultimately, give us space to grow. I need this space in my schedule to reflect on what I doing, who I’m becoming, and where I need to focus my attention. It’s become a vital part of my daily routine!

These are the 3 main ways I practice self care!

You know I love sharing ideas to help you create your own routines and creative practices, so I am sharing some fun, fabulous, colorful and creative self care essentials that I found on etsy so you can shop small for your own self care routines!

Important topic. I am trying to change it, but one of the first things that seems to get swept aside when life gets busy is self care.
