Real Natural Energy

This post may contain affiliate or brand partner links. Read our full disclosure here.

I seem to have spent most of February and over half of March with at least one kiddo that wasn’t feeling well. Somehow the family that “never gets sick” has been sick a lot this year! That has left me without a lot of sleep. Therefore, I have needed to dig deep and get some energy from somewhere because running on two hours of sleep just doesn’t cut it for this mom of five!

Today, I want to tell you a little secret. There is a very simple and very cheap way to get real energy and it doesn’t cost you a fortune. You don’t even have to order it off of Amazon! Water and Lemons are all that you need. Yes, I’m serious. Every morning I get a big glass of lukewarm or room temperature water and squeeze half of a lemon in it. Then I drink it down and immediately feel refreshed and energetic. I continue to drink it throughout the day.

Water is so important for your body and oftentimes it is one of the biggest things that gets ignored. Some of the benefits of water include; clear skin, cleans toxins out of the body, promotes a healthy heart, Cancer fighting, helps Arthritis pain, promotes weight loss, energy boosting, natural energy and so much more. You really need to drink half of your body weight in ounces of water. For instance if you weigh 200 pounds you need to drink 100 ounces of water a day. I encourage my clients to start with just adding in one extra glass of water a day and to increase it weekly from there. Before you know it you will be reaping tons of benefits!

I’m sure you are now asking why I add lemon to my water. First of all, lemon is very refreshing and just the smell of a lemon can perk you up. It also aids in digestion so by starting your day with a glass of lemon water you are revving up your body. Lemon is also high in potassium (even more so than bananas), enhances your enzyme function especially your liver, and is incredibly beneficial to your immune system. Two of the super benefits of lemon is that it helps reduce Uric Acid which causes inflammation in the body and it gives your body an energy boost when it enters your digestive tract.

I really encourage you to start drinking water with lemon in it daily for the next two weeks and come back to let me know the changes you see in your body and energy levels. You’ll be amazed at the natural energy you’ll feel!

Drink Your Water! And add in some Lemon! You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes!

Warm water helps get your bile moving better so that it helps you digest food better. It also helps your Lymphatic system.

Good reminder- thanks! I used to drink hot water with a splash of apple cider vinegar for similar benefits, but I've been relying more on herbal tea now…and probably not getting the water I need!

I've been drinking lemon in my water for decades – especially if I'm traveling. It takes some of the taste out of 'odd' water. LOL Plus, it just makes it yummy!

Water is always something I try to drink more of…and I'll succeed for a time…and then fall back to old thirsty habits.

I am a huge water drinker but I'm one of those odd people who doesn't like lemon or anything in their water. I definitely feel better when I am getting my water in. I even have a glass as soon as I get up in the morning.
