I’m back with another installment in my birthday wishes series! This one is all about the experiences and memories I want to have over the next year+!
When I wrote my 40 before 40 bucket list 6 years ago (lordy 30 feels like a lifetime ago!), most of the things on there had to do with making memories and having experiences. While some of the specifics have changed, for various reasons, the overall desire to experience MORE and make incredible memories has not!
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned first hand that it’s the little moments, the experiences and memories that are made that I treasure the most. So for my 36th year, I want to prioritize those things even more over the next few years.
Birthday Wishes: Experiences and Memories
Spa Day.
And I do mean a WHOLE DAY at a spa – I need/want a full day of pampering! A nice long massage, a facial, manicure and pedicure, and whatever else I can squeeze in!

I’m hoping to do a little more travel over the next few years, but I like to plan ahead, at least as far as the budget goes. I want to HAVE EXPERIENCES, not just go places. I can pick pretty much any major city, and there are experience options to be had! Perfect for the traveler, or traveler-wannabe!
Girls Weekend Glamping.
I’ve wanted to go glamping for FOREVER and there is an awesome place with the most beautiful views near Austin! I want to get together a few of the girls and head there for a weekend, probably in the fall or spring, when the heat isn’t too unbearable.
Day Trips.
I have at least a half dozen day trips I’d like to take in my neck of the woods. Some the hubby might want to join in on, the other’s I’ll plan to take with a friend or two. Any volunteers?
Day trip plans include shopping, hitting some museums in Dallas and Fort Worth, a visit to see friends in Oklahoma City, heading to Waco to visit Chip and Jo at Magnolia, and maybe even a day of fun at Six Flags! Nothing’s set in stone, but at least a few of these ideas are already tentatively planned.
Weekend Getaway with the Hubs.
The hubs and I need a chance to getaway, to go see something new and exciting. I don’t know where or what or when, but this HAS to happen this year! I’ll either figure it out and come up with an itinerary, or check with Tinggly to see what destinations they offer in their weekend getaway packages!
With 2 day getaway options in over 100 major cities, there’s no reason to not pack a bag and spend some time with my favorite dude. Especially since this Tinggly option includes a night at over 2000 hotels and breakfast!
All of these ideas and desired experiences lead up to one thing for me; LIVING MY BEST LIFE!
And there is nothing more that I could wish for over this next year than to truly love this life I’ve been given and have some epic experiences and memories!
