To say I am lacking in motivation this week, would be a major understatement. I fell like I used up all my creativity and energy in the past 2 weeks of intense making for the market. I really need to catch up on some sleep. In fact I am seriously thinking of going to bed as soon as I hit publish on this post. I need a solid 12 hours in my bed 🙂
Now that market is done, I am not planing another major shop event until september. Fall and Winter markets mean that I am already starting to work on stock! It feels really weird to be crocheting hats in June but I’ve started! I have some new design ideas and a goal of having at least 4 in each size, of each hat, before the October market. That’s like 100+ hats. So I’m sure you can guess what I’ll be busy doing most of the summer.
The start of a hat… I usually crochet all the “hat shells” as I call them and then add the face/details later. Making the “shells” is pretty easy and doesn’t require a whole lot of concentration for me. Perfect for days where I am exhausted, but still wanting to be semi-productive.
I also pulled out the granny squares that I made earlier in the year. I wanted to test a layout idea and see how many more squares I’m going to need.
If I were going for a decent sized baby afghan I’d only need 4 more squares, but since this one is supposed to be for me, I’m going to need a whole lot more than 4. Guess I know what I’ll work on when I hit the road with the hubs in the next few weeks. Not sure when that’s happening, but it will be happening soon-ish. Embroidery in a “big truck” isn’t really an option since its kinda bouncy, but its the perfect opportunity to get lots and lots of crocheting done!
In the mean time I am trying to decide how/what stitch I want to use to join these squares and what color to use. I’m debating between grey and cream… what color would you use?
I’m off to catch up on some beauty sleep 😉
