We’ve Got Plans Baby!

This post may contain affiliate or brand partner links. Read our full disclosure here.

Anyone that knows me, knows that I’ve never been a fan of the look or layout of the house we currently live in, but when its one your husband already owns when you meet and get married… you make do and make plans! And OH BOY, we’ve got plans!

2016-10-31-08-08-50

Our plans start outside! Curb appeal is at the top of the list, starting with the porch area. I dream of having a porch swing, where we can sit and watch the world go by, or at the very least a nice bench. For this project, we’re looking at a major scrub down, painting, possible new concrete and some gardening.

We also have this odd alcove area, with another entrance to the house that we don’t use. I dream of being able to either build a deck area here or pouring concrete in this whole section and having a screened in porch! Heavenly right?

Then we’ve got the back of the house and this porch/dirt area that is just begging for some major TLC in the form of a deck. I’d LOVE a deck here! Oh and maybe a sliding door too! Love. Love. Love! Heck I’d even settle for a concrete pad that functions as a patio area. I just want an outdoor space to hang out, maybe do some grilling and relaxing at the end of a long, busy day!

We’ve got plans for the inside of the house too! Currently we’re living wood-panel-topia. Basically its a house from the 70’s, that has never really been updated. We’ll start simple with paint and new floors. Eventually we’ll remove the wood paneling and replace it with sheet rock. And then there is the kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Lets just say those are TOTAL gut jobs!

We’ve got plans baby! Big plans! And they all start with the right financial choice for our family!

See, I told you we’ve got plans! Lots and Lots and Lots of plans!

Of course all these plans require Lots and Lots and Lots of money!  Well, maybe not THAT much money, but renovations (done the right way) aren’t cheap! And unless we win the lottery (and wouldn’t that be oh so nice!), we’re going to have to look at putting our home’s equity to good use!

Whether you’re remodeling your home or consolidating debt, Capital One is here to help with simply smarter tools that help you choose the right option for your situation. Just by visiting capitalone.com/home-equity , you can:

  • Get your customized rate offer and estimated loan amount – with no impact to your credit score
  • Even begin the application process – it’s simple and there are no burdensome fees

We haven’t yet begun the process of applying for a home equity loan. We’re still deciding if a home equity loan is the right option, or if we should go with the line of credit. There are lots of benefits to both… but we’ll definitely be using one of these come full renovation time, which will be sooner rather than later with these options from Capital One!

Whether you’re looking to get that new gourmet kitchen, upgrade your backyard patio or add an addition, with a home equity line of credit from Capital One, you can start your “someday” project today.

I know it will be a lot of work, but it will also be worth it in the end. I wish you all of the luck and loads of cash you need to help get the job done 🙂

How fun! I can’t wait to see what your home looks like whenever you’re done doing everything you want to to it. We’ve been redoing our home little by little and it amazes me how different it looks after simple changes.

Sounds like you’ve got a great plan. Home renovations can be daunting, but when you attack them with a plan it helps to prevent the overwhelm. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!
