DIY Plaid and Gold Gather Pillow

This post may contain affiliate or brand partner links. Read our full disclosure here.

The Holidays are are pretty much upon us… or at least the beginning of the Holidays anyways! My favorite thing about this time of year? The chance to gather with friends and family, both old and new! Combine my love of gathering, with my love of pillow making… and you’ve got this fabulous and shiny DIY Plaid and Gold Gather Pillow! How cute is this Plaid and Gold Gather Pillow? It whips up in less than 30 minutes (depending on your sewing skill level) and is made with a pre-cut gold foil vinyl "gather" you just iron on!

And oh how I wish these pictures did a better job of showing the true gold foil effect of this Plaid and Gold Gather Pillow. It is stunning in person!!

The best part about this Plaid and Gold Gather Pillow? It whips up in less than 30 minutes (depending on skill level) and is made with a pre-cut gold foil vinyl “gather” I got from one of my favorite shops on etsy!

This pillow project is almost exactly the same as this Personalized Pillow Cover I made last year, but is a totally finished and stuffed pillow, instead of just a cover.

I was quite pleased with how the gold foil of the vinyl lettering plays off of the black and white plaid. I had thought about using some of my red and black buffalo plaid, but I have a bunch of other projects in mind for that fabric, and didn’t want to over-buffalo-plaid the blog ( as if thats an actual thing lol ), and settled on this option instead.

I’m still trying to decide between keeping this beauty, adding it to my online shop (possibly as a permanent addition) or taking it to my upcoming handmade craft shows and selling it as a one of a kind…

Currently I’m leaning towards keeping it because its just so darn adorable!

The prettiest DIY pillow Perfect for the Holidays! Check out this Plaid and Gold Gather Pillow!

What do you think? Should I keep this Plaid and Gold Gather Pillow or sell it at market/in the shop?

I think this is a cute pillow, not something I would have for myself, but its really neat and I do believe that you will not have a problem selling the pillow.

I love how the gold glistens on that plaid. I bet it would be beautiful on a black or chocolate pillow too!

I would have never thought to pair the gold and the plaid together like that, but I have to say that I love it! What a tough decision on whether to keep it or sell it! I say keep it and make more to sell, so that many people can enjoy it’s awesomeness!

I absolutely love the gold foil paired together with the plaid. I’m not much of a DIY’er but I think I could tackle this. It would make a great decorative touch on the couch during the holidays. Thanks so much for sharing.

This is a really great home decoration project. I am not particularly gifted when it comes to craft projects, but I absolutely love reading about them. I love how you could customize this project depending on your decor, or even do a holiday theme!

This is super cute!!! I hate how photo’s don’t always compare to in person. I can see this pillow being so much more beautiful in person and I love how it turned out!! It’s great for the holidays!! <3

Super cute! I LOVE that you used something from an Etsy shop – I don’t have a vinyl cutter and always get bummed by tutorials like this. Thanks for sharing at the Share the Wealth Sunday party – we hope to see you again soon!

I don’t have a cutter either! And Amanda from Sip Simmer Serve has been awesome about creating me custom things for projects! Its that or try and hand cut stuff… and that hasn’t always worked out well LOL

This is really nice! I actually have some black plaid material that I got to make a couple pillows, lost in the fabric stash. I’d love to try this! It is so perfect!
