Life is an absolute mess sometimes. There’s no real getting around it when we all are under a ton of pressure to be the best version of ourselves we can be.
Half of the time, we’re told we aren’t good enough on social media and by our own peers, and we listen to it. We listen when they say we need to be thinner, smarter, richer, prettier – and it’s all rubbish.
There is a reason that there has been a significant upswing in the rate of those with mental health issues, and it’s mostly because of this need to be “good enough”.
We stress about our families, our finances, our jobs, and our downtime.
We worry about paying our bills and earning enough to do so.
We panic about people knocking on the door about our debts, and we fear we don’t have the right make-up for our Instagram feeds.
It’s a lot of panic, and we need to have improved mental health, not mental health issues that are made worse. So, let’s look at seven ways you can improve your mental health and feel better all around.
Seven Steps To Improved Mental Health:
One: Consolidate your debt.
Borrowing money from Visio Lending to pay off your debt may sound counterproductive, but actually, it’s going to alleviate your worries. You’re not going to panic about debt when it’s all gone but for one payment.
Money worries are massive among people, and the more you do to alleviate this, the better off you will be.
Two: Give yourself some grace.
It’s time to be a little more compassionate with yourself.
You’re not bullet-proof, and you should be able to face challenges knowing that you are doing your very best for yourself.
Accept that while you’re an incredible human, you’re not superhuman, and give yourself a little grace when it’s called for.
Three: Focus on being the best version of yourself.
It can be hard to motivate yourself, but when you do so, you can do better.
You can focus on being the best version of you that you can be, but make sure it’s such that you’re the person you want to be, not the person people expect you to be!
You get to decide what the best version of you is. Go all in on being THAT person and don’t let anything stop you!
Four: Ask for help when you need it.
Communication is vital, and without it, you cannot get help. Instead of struggling alone with everything, you need to get people on your side who can listen to you.
Five: Take care of your physical self.
When you can, stay on top of your physical wellness. You will feel 100% better in yourself for drinking more water, walking more, and enjoying good, wholesome food.
It’s not about Instagram aesthetics, but about the way you feel about yourself.
Six: Take some time to enjoy life.
Start valuing your downtime. Life is busy, and work is busy, but you must find time to kick back and relax at some point.
Without valuing this time, your mental health will not improve, and you won’t feel calm. There are plenty of apps for relaxation that you can use to feel good on the inside.
Seven: Don’t neglect your selfcare.
Be consistent with your self-care! Your mental health can only remain in a good place when you are regularly practicing caring for yourself and your mind.
Small changes can add up to big results when you’re consistent. Pick one of these steps to start with and practice it daily until it’s become an ingrained habit.
Then add in another step until all 7 have become a regular part of your lifestyle!
