Life is an absolute mess sometimes. There’s no real getting around it when we all are under a ton of pressure to be the best version of ourselves we can be. So lets talk about Seven Steps To Improved Mental Health you can take asap!
Half of the time, we’re told we aren’t good enough on social media and by our own peers, and we listen to it. We listen when they say we need to be thinner, smarter, richer, prettier – and it’s all rubbish.
There is a reason that there has been a significant upswing in the rate of those with mental health issues, and it’s mostly because of this need to be good enough.
We stress about our families, our finances, our jobs, and our downtime. There’s the worry about paying our bills and earning enough to do so. We panic about people knocking on the door about our debts, and we fear we don’t have the right make-up for our Instagram feeds.
It’s a lot of panic, and we need to have improved mental health, not mental health issues that are made worse. So, let’s look at seven ways you can improve your mental health and feel better all around.
Seven Steps To Improved Mental Health:
#1 – Invest in something you’re passionate about. If you’re good at interior design and DIY, then the idea of a loan from Visio Lending for a new property that you can rent out could be all the improvement you need.
You’ll be using your skills and you’ll have a new purpose in life. Managing one rental property could change your career goals, giving you a new lease of life and the drive to do more!
#2 – It’s time to be a little more compassionate with yourself. You’re not bullet-proof, and you should be able to face challenges knowing that you are doing your very best for yourself.
Accept that while you’re an incredible human, you’re not superhuman.
#3 – It can be hard to motivate yourself, but when you do so, you can do better. You can focus on being the best version of you that you can be, but make sure it’s such that you’re the person you want to be, not the person people expect you to be!
Make intentional choices about the person you want to be – in this moment, for this day, for this week, etc. Focus on one thing at a time, and BE that thing!
#4 – Communication is vital, and without it, you cannot get help. Instead of struggling alone with everything, you need to get people on your side who can listen to you.
Ask a friend to hold you accountable on your current goal or ask them to check up on you a few times a week. Or even ask for a coffee or lunch date. Just ASK!
#5 – When you can, stay on top of your physical appearance. You will feel 100% better in yourself for drinking more water, walking more, and enjoying good, wholesome food.
Move your body. Breath deep. Go outside in the sunshine. It’s not about Instagram aesthetics, but about the way you feel about yourself.
#6 – Start valuing your downtime. Life is busy, and work is busy, but you must find time to kick back and relax at some point.
Without valuing this time, your mental health will not improve, and you won’t feel calm. There are plenty of apps for relaxation that you can use to feel good on the inside.
#7 – Be consistent with your self-care. Your mental health can only remain in a good place when you are regularly practicing caring for yourself and your mind. If you make it a priority, the goodness that you get from your self care practices will continue to build over time and benefit every part of you – body, soul, mind and spirit!
The small changes lead to significant results if you are consistent about it, and you must give it a chance.
Improved Mental Health is achievable with these simple actions! Build them into your routine, make them a priority and stay consistent! You’ll notice a difference in no time!
