This easy DIY Rose Petal Soap smells so amazing and it’s ridiculously simple to make. Just melt, pour and BAM! you’re in silky-smooth rose petal heaven.

I can’t wait to package some up and gift them to my favorite moms for Mother’s Day. Such a simple gift, but definitely one that says “I value you.” Which is so precious.

I mean, when you gift a bath bomb or homemade soap, it’s basically telling the recipient that “I’d like to give you an excuse to enjoy yourself and spend some time relaxing.”

What I wouldn’t give to get that kind of gift! LOL!

Plus, let’s be honest, these easy to find ingredients make a simple cold process soap recipe that you can really enjoy making. Needless to say, I love this rose soap.

Ok. So, if you’re ready to make a great gift for a friend or for Mother’s Day, grab your supplies and let’s make!

What You Need to Make Easy DIY Rose Petal Soap

  • ¾  lb Goat’s Milk melt and pour soap base
  • 1 tablespoon dried rose petals (crushed)
  • 15 drops Rose essential oil
  • Large measuring cup, glass is best
  • Spoon or wooden popsicle stick
  • Simple Serenity Soap Mold by ArtMinds (found at Michaels)

How to Make Easy DIY Rose Petal Soap

Cut soap base into 1 inch pieces and place in measuring cup. I’ve found the easiest way to cut the soap is to use a large knife that I’ve run hot water over for a minute or two. I also make sure the knife is sharp before using it–just works better, so weird.

Microwave the squares of soap for 30 seconds. Stir very well. If it’s not completely melted, repeat microwaving at 10 second intervals until fully melted, stirring in between.

Add colorant, if desired and stir well. I went with a soft purple because, you know, that’s fun.

Add a few drops of essential oil. Stir well. If you’re doing a flavor besides rose, you can add other essential oils. But I really wanted a single-scent soap so I kept it at one oil.

Put rose petals (or other dried flowers–I mean, don’t feel restricted to roses, if you want to do daisies) into soap molds so that they cover the “flower” on the bottom of the mold.

Pour melted soap mixture slowly into the soap molds. Do not overfill. Stop short just at the edge.

I find that the pouring is most easily controlled by using a measuring cup with a pour spout.

Lightly spray the top of the soap with rubbing alcohol to prevent bubbles from forming on the soap. It’s ok if this happens–I mean, sometimes bubbles are just unavoidable, but the alcohol helps.

Let set for about 60 minutes and remove from mold.

I plan to wrap mine in a little tulle baggie and put with a pretty card. So sweet!

Isn’t this just the most wonderful idea for a Mother’s Day gift–or just a gift for yourself?! This soap is so easy to whip up too! I might make a second batch just so I have a backup…
