There is something about getting older, hitting 31 and realizing that its possible that my “best years” are here and/or behind me. Something that has me absolutely determined to get my act together! Its time for me to break through the barriers that have been holding me back, stop making excuses and start living a healthy life!
Just before my birthday I went and got a gym membership again. A few weeks later I tried yoga on a whim… by the end of that hour long class, I was HOOKED! Stretching, moving, pushing my body to go further, breaking more barriers… its a feeling like no other! Unless of course, its breaking those barriers while outside. Ya know the whole yoga-communing-with-nature thing. Its legit and oh so calming! Especially on the super crazy days!
All of these new experience have combined and left me determined to live a No Barriers Life! Just like Erik Weihenmayer! Erik is the only blind adventurer to climb to the seven highest summits in the world. His latest expedition? To kayak the Grand Canyon’s Colorado River. He and fellow blind adventurer, Lonnie Bedwell, will be the first blind adventurers to attempt this enormous feat. This expedition serves to inspire people to not limit themselves, eliminate barriers in their lives and live life to its fullest. Nature Valley is joining Erik Weihenmayer in inviting people to pledge to get out there and live a No Barriers Life.
Weihenmayer and his adventures are featured in a series of new television and digital advertisements “Feel Nature’s Energy” for Nature Valley, highlighting the unique ways in which Erik experiences nature.
Want to go above and beyond, Living a Healthy Life? Take the No Barriers Pledge As a founding member of No Barriers USA, Weihenmayer advocates for the organization’s mission to empower people with the message, “what’s within you is stronger than what’s in your way.”
I hope you’ll join Nature Valley, Weihenmayer and myself in the goal of encouraging one million people to live a No Barriers Life! You can take the pledge by Clicking Here

I found my thirties, which just ended, to be SO rewarding! I just turned 40 and I think it's going to get even better. Kudos to you for carpe-ing this diem! 🙂
I keep meaning to try yoga but in my head, I need to already be thin and flexible in order to participate…I guess that's my barrier that I need to break through. Thanks for the encouragement.
I love yoga. It's the perfect exercise for you mind and body. But I gotta say, forties are fabulous and so far my fifties have been the best yet!
30s are awesome! I'm loving these years so much. Good for you for taking care of yourself and finding something you love to do. That makes being healthy so much easier.
You're going to do great with your fitness adventures. Thanks for sharing your goals.
