Works in Progress

I feel like I haven’t my current projects on here in ages! In fact I haven’t shared what I’ve been working on since the very beginning of December! Craziness! I guess that means I have a fair bit to show you then doesn’t it? If you follow me on instagram you will have seen some of the things I’m working on or have finished 🙂

2013-12-17 21.08.32

I started cutting fabric for over 80, yes EIGHTY, ouchie owls!! I’m planning on having these guys done by mid February, among a million other things 😉

2013-12-18 20.26.03

A ridiculous amount of the past month has been spent sick. On the days I was well enough to think/focus, I tried to get some planning for 2014 done. And of course, I simply had to watch Jennifer Garner in ALIAS 😀

2013-12-21 13.50.31-2

I got back to stitching hoop art. It was sooooo relaxing and such a weird feeling to make things because I wanted to. After 3.5 months of essentially focusing on inventory items, its been a welcome change 😀

2013-12-27 15.41.15

I started working on boot cuffs to add to the shop. Hopefully they’ll be listed by the end of next week… but no promises 😀

2013-12-26 14.15.09-2

Hubs has been officially unemployed for 8 weeks now. Its been a challenge to say the least! While I’ve loved having him home it has for sure been a test of our anchors. I currently have this hoop above my desk to remind me where my strength lies in the midst of this storm.

2014-01-02 19.13.50

This little guy is unfinished and a bit strange-looking I know… BUT He’s finished now  and you can read all about him on the blog tomorrow 🙂

2014-01-04 22.31.10

I mentioned that I was joining in on the #ChrochetMoodBlanket2014 project/challenge. 1 week in and I’ve managed to stay up to date… and avoid the temptation to crochet a whole bunch of granny squares at once 🙂 I’m enjoying a little quiet reflection about my day as I whip up each days square,  in what ever color catches my fancy.

2014-01-05 23.34.24

This new crochet project is how I’ve managed to avoid that temptation 🙂 I played around with an idea until I found something that I liked and I’m quite a few rows into this bright and cheerful baby blanket! I’m quite in love with it and NEED to stock up on more of that blue yarn 🙂

Before you go… I need your help!

2014-01-07 15.10.46

As a community leader in the Texas Women Bloggers Network, I’ve been asked to find small businesses and shop owners that would like to be part of our first event! We’re looking for silent auction items and goodies for the swag bags! This would be incredible exposure for your shop!! And the proceeds from the evening are going to support the Ladder Alliance – an organization that empowers at-risk women who are often victims of domestic violence to become self-sufficient. They are empowered through learning marketable job skills while at the same time rebuilding their self-esteem and self-confidence. If you’re interested in learning more, or have someone in mind that might be interested in learning more, please email me at [email protected]

I hope you’re having a fabulous Wednesday!

Love your hoop art! I'm trying to develop a monthly planning book for my blog, it would be the first time I've done it. Do you have any tips as far as planning methods and types of calendars to use?

The German taught both her girls how to crochet when we were preteens. I regret I left it behind. Love your stuff.

Oh my goodness you're so talented! I wish I could do…well, any of that! I bought a sewing machine a couple of months ago so I could learn to sew, and I have yet to tackle it. I'm so impressed haha!

Wow! You are busy–looks like you have a lot of good projects happening. I checked out your ouchie owls on your shop and they sure are cute! I might have to stop by and get one sometime.
