The Top 7 Wedding Planning Tips To Get Hitched Without A Hitch

So, you’ve decided to plan your own wedding. Maybe it’s because of the cost of professional wedding planners, or maybe it’s because you’re a DIY kind of person. Either way, there are a few things you’ll need to know to make sure your wedding goes as planned.

Here are the top seven tricks to help you plan your wedding with as little stress as possible.

Book your venue early: Normally, it’s a good idea to book your wedding venue as soon as possible once you’re engaged. Aim to secure your venue a year to nine months, if not even sooner, before the wedding. Popular venues book FAST, so if you have a particular date or venue in mind, contact them as soon as you can.

Choose your date carefully: Make sure that whatever date you choose is going to be convenient for as many guests as possible. Avoid holidays, when lots of people are already going to be traveling, making getting to your wedding difficult. You may find that the date you choose will be influenced by availablity of venues in your area.

Keep an eye on finances: Weddings are already expensive, and it can be tempting to spend just a little bit over your budget for all the bells and whistles. Make your budget and stick to it as much as possible. In this age of DIY’s and Pinterest, its entirely possible to have the wedding of your dreams on a budget, if you’re willing to put in the work!

Stay organized: There are plenty of tools available online for organizing your wedding planning. Make sure everything is easy to find, so you don’t forget any details. I highly recommend getting a portable paper organizer to keep your lists, notes, magazines and contracts in as you book vendor’s and make plans. Keeping all the paperwork in one location will definitely save you frustration further into the planning process.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help: Your network is going to be your greatest resource in planning your wedding. See if friends or family are willing to help with photography or decor instead of getting you a gift; you’d be surprised how much the people you know are able to do to help. Your wedding party should help too! Just make it clear to them up front what you’ll need from them as you plan and get ready for the big day.

Know that you won’t be able to please everyone: This wedding is your big day, not your parents’ or friends’. Do what’s going to make you and your partner happy, because that’s what’s going to be most meaningful at the end of the day. The day will fly by, and the MEMORIES (and photos) are what will last… so make sure you focus on the moments that matter.

Try to have fun: Wedding planning can be stressful, but remember that this is supposed to be a way to celebrate you and your partner. Try to take it easy, have as much fun as you can, and enjoy the actual wedding when the big day comes!

You’ll find that your wedding day will FLY BY, all that preparation for a single day can seem like a hassle, but with the right plan and these tips you can enjoy the process AND the big day.

Very good helpful ideas you listed. Wedding can be hectic so making things easier is so much better. Our friend made this on wood circles similar to this for the wedding. Thanks for the info.
