Sparks Will Fly…

A couple of weeks ago I got another Tattoo. Yes Mom… another one 😉 This one puts me at a grand total of 3… and I’m done for a while! This one is a little more visible, has a real personal meaning and is a constant reminder of the reason why I got it.

Since it is on my forearm, above my wrist and is in a very visible place, I went with white ink. While I wanted the tattoo and thought long and hard about where to put it, I also didn’t want it to scream TATTOO!

I love that its subtle and almost invisible. When people actually do notice its a great conversation starter!

A little over 2 weeks of healing… Almost time to go in for the touch up!

So why did I get “Sparks Will Fly” tattooed on my arm? Right where I can always see it? What do those words mean to me?

Well without getting all “preachy” (cause that’s not what I do here, although I often mention Church and things), “Sparks Will Fly” are words that remind me that there is Grace for every thing, every moment, every trial. There is a song by the amazing band Tenth Avenue North called “Healing Begins”. It talks about letting walls fall down, accepting healing for the parts of you that are hurting and giving up the need to let the world see someone perfect. At least, that’s what the song means to me. My Tattoo comes from a line in the bridge…

Sparks Will Fly As Grace Collides with the Dark Inside Of Us... Tenth Avenue North - busybeingjennifer.com

Sparks Will Fly as Grace collides with the Dark inside of us… We all have things that we could use a little extra Grace for. Some days more than others. Putting those words on my arm, a place I can look in moments of despair or frustration, remind me that there is nothing I can hide, run from or fake my way through, that Grace can not cover. HIS Grace is enough… and because of that I AM enough.

Is there a song or quote that helps you when life gets overwhelming?

I'll admit it, I'm not into tattoos……but bless your heart for sharing your faith in such an open way. Love Tenth Avenue North as well, thanks for sharing.

I like the white ink idea. I've been thinking of doing that with my sons' names. I really like tattoos with a personal touch and not just some cartoon.

I can't even look at tattoos. I just sit there and think about how much pain you must have gone through to get it! Gosh, I'm getting all worked up thinking about it! But, I do love that you picked something meaningful!

I thought you were giving up details on your marriage… ha! I love the tattoo and it makes me think I could get another one that wouldn't be as obvious.

I love it <3 I want to get one, but I can't decide what exactly. I know I want it on the top of my foot and something swirly and colorful. I'm going to keep looking until I find one that screams 'me!'

Love it! I love the significance of it as well. My go to song is "Sovereign". It's on Chris Tomlin's latest album, but one of the worship leaders at our church wrote it. I love when he sings it. It has been such a blessing for us with all we've been through. As for the tattoo…just did my first. Left wrist, but it's black. May or may not post about it one day. 🙂
