My First Quilting Retreat

This post may contain affiliate or brand partner links. Read our full disclosure here.

Back in December I got to go on my very first quilting retreat! Sunset Retreat and Quilt Shop just opened up in November, I popped by to check it out and see all the pretty fabrics (you know I LOVE fabric!) and Christy was kind enough to give me a tour. Well… one thing led to another and I was back the next weekend to hang out, enjoy some fabulous food and get my quilting on! Brace yourself… I took a whole bunch of pictures!

First up, the quilt shop! Pretty much anything you’d need at a quilting retreat and then some! Patterns, lots of fabrics, tools, threads, and more!

The food over the weekend was INCREDIBLE! I want to go back just so they can feed me again 🙂 Oh and there is a coffee bar! Delicious coffee at the push of a button *Heaven!*

The rooms here are amazing! I wasn’t able to stay over night (next time!), but I did poke around a little 🙂 Every room has a theme and special little touches to make it unique. This was one of my favorites 🙂 Oh and every bed has its own unique, handmade quilt!

The work space is pretty awesome too! The main room can be set up for conferences, wedding receptions, parties and anything else you could possibly need it for.

I met some wonderful and very talented women, made new friends and was able to “pick” some very quilt savvy brains! I really did learn a lot.

One of the best parts of the retreat? The incredible patio area and the view! There is a reason they called it Sunset Retreat!

If you’re anywhere near Sunset, Texas you need to check this place out!

I’ll be back tomorrow to show off the quilt I worked on during the retreat 🙂 And yes its my Christmas Quilt… that I finished for the second week of January. Oppsy!

That looks so fun! I am way to distracted to quilt, I'd need a full on retreat to get anything done!
