Keeping Game Day Simple #MealsTogether

This post may contain affiliate or brand partner links. Read our full disclosure here.

You might not know this about me, but I am a BIG Football fan. Some of my favorite childhood memories were watching football with my Dad after church on Sundays. Of course these sunday afternoon games required snacks, but nothing is better than the food for the BIG GAME. Since I now live in Texas, I can’t watch the game with my Dad, but I have a great church that gets together for some good food and a big old football party. When there’s 50+ people clamoring for food, you have to keep the Game Day food simple.

I had a couple of ideas for food. So we went shopping. At the top of the list? Tyson Honey BBQ Chicken Strips!

10 Tyson Honey BBQ Chicken Strips for the win!

At 6.98 a bag, you’re getting a good bang for your buck. And of course no trip to Walmart is complete for me without a trip through the craft section and then loading up on veggies 🙂 One quick trip and I got all my Big Game needs + some yarn 😉 You can check out more of my shopping adventure here.

12 everything I need for the Big Game

Getting all the food ready for Game Day was pretty simple. Especially since all the Tyson BBQ Chicken Strips required was 20 minutes in the oven, with a turn half way through.

It was nice to have something easy and delicious that was simple.

I chopped them up in to good-sized chunks and served with honey garlic BBQ sauce. Everybody was raving about these. At least 4 people asked me what they were and where  I got them. I wish I could claim these as my own creation, they are just that yummy! The kids, in particular loved them!

While the chicken was in the oven, I also made some yummy cucumber sandwiches. Hurray for a no carb option 🙂

Of course I had to make something sweet 🙂 I whipped up a Chocolate, Caramel and Peanut Butter Dessert Dip and served it with pretzels. Oh Em Gee. I may have a new addiction. I’ll share the recipe for it later this week 🙂

It was a great afternoon and evening of fellowship, fun, food and most importantly Football! Oh and what the heck was up with the half black out? Weirdness!

I’m definitely going to have to get my butt to the gym this week. Right after I go back to walmart and get a couple more bags of Tyson’s BBQ Chicken Strips.

What a smart idea to make some low carb/no carb options 🙂 Nothing is worse than a party where half the women stand around and refuse to eat, right? Oh and my goodness – 50 people! My head starts spinning when we hit double digits…looks like you pulled it off wonderfully though!

Ohh, yummy!! That's the best part of watching the game, though, right?? The food?? 😉
