Give A Little Back

We live in a crazy, chaotic world. It seems like there is something that makes me scratch my head and wonder “What is the world coming to??” almost everyday. When it comes to the chaos in the world, we can get sucked into the sadness and despair, or look for the good, look for the bright spots, and look for a chance to give a little back.

One of my favorite things about being a handmade shop owner, is that chance to give a little back with each and every purchase that is made. I’ve shared before that my shop supports a small women’s rescue in Romania, and in the last 2 years, I’ve been able to send almost $1000 to help these women! Women that would otherwise be stuck in an endless cycle of abuse, violence and despair. Its barely a drop in the bucket, but its still a drop and I believe that the ripples will have a positive long term effect.

I also love donating some of my handmade goodies to adoption fundraisers and instagram sales! I love knowing that a patchy bear or ouchie owl is going to a home where it will be well loved AND at the same time its helping to bring a child into a loving home. Talk about warm fuzzies!!

Giving back and Acts of Kindness are the Bright Spots this chaotic world needs!

Western Union believes that when money moves, better things happen. A business expands. A family connects. A child goes to college. Emergency aid arrives the moment it’s needed. An economy prospers, opportunities can open, and communities have a chance to heal.

Moving money for better means moving money for a better world –creating value for individuals, businesses and for society.

Western Union does this every day. The money sent by their customers can help to stimulate economies and make individuals’ lives more rewarding and fulfilled.

This is what lies at the heart of the new Chain of Betters project. It’s an idea that empowers people with the opportunity to change the lives of others. As the money moves around the world, creating a chain of good deeds, together we can start to change lives in ways we wouldn’t have imagined was possible. This isn’t just saying money moves for better. This is proving it, together.

This is more than a random act of kindness (RAOKs are totally awesome though!), this is actively choosing to make a difference that will effect a person, a family, a community for the better, for a very, very long time.

That my friends is the best way to give a little back and the ULTIMATE warm fuzzy!

Be sure to check out the Chain of Betters site and find out how you can be a part of making a difference!
