Summer is a time for you to kick back, relax, and enjoy yourself. You can't do that if you're too busy worrying about your body. Remember to love yourself this summer, and try some of these tips to help you feel body-confident!
Roughly 91% of women are not happy with their bodies, and they often turn to diet to chase their ideal body image. Unfortunately, this tends to get worse in the summer when you can’t cover up your body with clothes like you can in the winter. Well, it’s time to throw those negative thoughts out the window and love yourself this summer! Here are a few tricks to help you feel body-confident all summer (and year!) long…

Dress for success

One of the first things you can do to start loving your body is understand how to dress it. Fashion is about having fun, so experiment with different styles, shapes, and colors until you find what you’re the most comfortable in. Women’s apparel was the number one top-selling item on the internet as of August 2017, so you know you have plenty of clothing items to choose from. Remember though, that you are dressing for you and not for anyone else. So who cares what others think? If you feel good, you’ll look great.

Don’t sweat it

It’s near impossible to stop yourself from sweating in the summer. In fact, the average person has two to four million sweat glands in their body working as a cooling system to protect from overheating. So basically, everyone sweats when it gets hot out. To help reduce your sweating, pick up a strong antiperspirant from the drug store. Stressing about the sweat will only make you sweat worse, so forget about it!

Ignore the media

Did you know that only an extremely small percentage of women are actually born with the body type that is most commonly reflected in the media? This gives women incredibly unrealistic expectations for how they should look, which is astronomically problematic for many reasons. That being said, this summer you should cut out all media that makes you feel bad about your body. When you stop comparing yourself to others and in a negative way, your confidence will grow exponentially.

Give yourself a break

If you are setting goals for yourself to lose weight and get fit, don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Crash diets and fad diets are not a healthy way to lose weight. What typically happens is that you will drop the weight rather quickly and then gain it all right back when you’re back to your normal eating patterns. Set realistic goals for yourself and make sure you keep your overall health in mind. Being “skinny” isn’t worth harming yourself because you’re beautiful just the way you are already.

Take care of your skin

Glowing, beautiful skin will definitely boost your confidence this summer. Exfoliate your skin on your face and your arms to give you a soft and natural glow. You can use a dry brush to help buff off the dead skin on the surface, and then remember to moisturize a few times a week to give it that amazing glow. ORgive a DIY essential oil scrub a try!

Summer is a time for you to kick back, relax, and enjoy yourself. You can’t do that if you’re too busy worrying about your body. Remember to love yourself this summer, and try some of these tips to help you feel body-confident!
