Hi! I am Cody and I blog over at Catching Cody K. I travel two hours away for classes at the community college. I hope to get my AA in Business and then head back and maybe become a Marine Biologist. I love to read, blog, write (who is working on NaNoWriMo!) and I love to enjoy life.
Today I am helping out Jennifer and I have decided to share something that none of my readers know about me but is pretty much a snap shot of me. I collect bouncy balls. Yes, your heard that right. I collect bouncy balls. It all started when I was really little. My mother and I would go into Kmart together to go shopping. By the end of the trip I would usually be tried and almost annoying. While she would check out our items she usually let me go over to those kiddy vending machines with my hand full of quarters. I usually picked a sticker and one or two bouncy balls. The stickers were stuck to my bedroom door (a post for another time) but the balls were always played with. Somehow after a few weeks the bouncy balls would be come lost. Usually under the bed, in the corner of a closet and under couches. These bouncy balls were then rediscovered once we had spring cleaning and I would play with them and then lose them. As I got older, I made a jar for my bouncy ball collection. I have TONS of different colors, shapes and designs. I even have a few that I made myself.
Since I am on travel writing this post (meaning I am in college for the next few days) I will share the ones that I carry with me. I know I know. I carry bouncy balls but they are a HUGE stress relief from school and remind me of home. One day I will share the whole collection. By the way: the quarter is there for size reference.
These two are the second largest in my collection. (Yes there is bigger). I carry these mostly for other people to play along. I love being able to spread joy through these. This size is available in one my local grocery stores. I have given away two. Plus the bigger size makes it easier to see when someone careless lets the ball wander.
I only have a few of these sizes so I don’t usually share. Especially not this ball. This yellow ball is one of the later ones I got with my mom. I have lost and rediscovered this one. It’s the perfect size for me and I would be sad to loose it.
Surprisingly this is not the smallest size I have. I have a few that are smaller then a dime. Anyways, I just acquired these from a bin of about 100+. These are pretty small and can be easy to slip in a pocket for adventures. These are the ones that I give out the most. I have so many and they are sooo cute.
Yes, I am that nerd who still goes to the kiddy vending machines to see what they have new out. Do you have any childhood habits that didn’t die? or do you collect anything that most people would consider weird, unnormal or collect something that makes you you? Please share!

I don't think I really "collect" things, but I've always liked seeing what others find interesting to collect. 🙂

You should find something to collect. It really helps to connect to other people but it's soo neat to find something you don't have. This isn't my only collection though. I collect alot of other things too.

How fun! I don't really collect much now, but I'm sure once I settle into a home I will. Thanks for sharing!
catchingcodyk says
What would you collect? I understand about settling in home. I travel alot so it's hard to collect but thankfully my mother lets me store most of my stuff at her house.

I collect Nancy Drew Books, Babysitters Club books (a recent collection because I am kicking myself for giving away my previous collection) and Tall Shot Glasses from my travels. I would say the weirdest is the tall shot glasses cause I rarely drink (wine or margarita when I do) and hardly ever a shot…although I recently tried a Chocolate Cake shot and that was divine! 😉

I had a BUNCH of babysitters club books I was getting for a friend but she moved. If I find them I would be happy to send them to you. =] I have a friend that collects shot glasses and she doesn't drink either. I always thought about collecting something from places I travel too, I just don't know what it would be.

I'm always fascinated to learn what others collect. This is a first (and fun!).

Haha. I love to see what others collect too. I didn't realize I had a "collection" though til this year. Do you collect anything?

What a cleaver collection and so colorful too. It made me smile and somehow I think it is making my day feel fun.

My girls would LOVE to come visit your house! One of their favorite things to say is "bouncy balls" and one of their favorite things to collect or have me buy is bouncy balls. Pretty darn cool! Thanks for guesting.
Oh, and I used to collect shot glasses, but then it got to where that's all people would get for me, lol.
catchingcodyk says
You should so save those bouncy balls you get for them. Bouncy ball collection is SO FUN. I can totally relate to your girls.
Did you use your shot glasses? That's all people would get, then you must have alot! I think it would be time to add a new collection.

I'm very impressed by your dedication to school by traveling two hours! That's very inspiring! I'm curious, do you store your bouncy balls away or have them on display? I love hearing about people's unique hobbies and collections!

I do love my campus. The teachers are the best and we have the coolest events (check out a few of my post on my blog). I can't really see myself anywhere else.
