You know whats fun? Making practical gifts for friends and family members that will actually be used! Earlier this year, one of my besties moved into their dream home. I missed the actual house warming party, but I still wanted to make them something special! So I decided to make them a personalized baking dish!

Here in Texas, monograms and personalized goodies are all the rage, so I knew this dish would be a hit! And despite the fact that a clear etched glass is almost impossible to photograph well, this personalized baking dish turned out awesome!

Here’s what you need to make your own etched personalized baking dish:

Clear Glass Baking Dish
Last Name Vinyl Sticker/Transfer (I got mine from Sip Simmer Serve)
Etching Medium
Painters Tape
Sponge Brush

Step one: Thoroughly wash and dry your dish. Then, on the back side of the dish, block off the area you don’t want to get the etching medium on.

Step two: Center your last name decal and apply according to the direction.

Step three: Add more painters tape to overlap the edge of your decal. Press firmly to seal and protect the rest of the dish.

Step four: Following the directions of the etching medium, apply to the decal area. Rinse off and remove the decals and tape.

Can you do this on a solid color dish?

I’m sure you can! The effect will probably more matte vs. shiny though. It may be harder to read.
