Things I HAVE to do this Spring!

Happy First Day of Spring!! While it might not quite feel like spring where you are… it is official! Spring is here 😀 Hopefully the weather starts cooperating with the calendar soon! In the mean time, I’ve got some projects that I simply HAVE to do this spring!

Spring Projects that I HAVE to do this year! - BusyBeingJennifer.com

Lace Cake cover

Lace Cake Cover:

The original website is in Norwegian, but I’m pretty sure I can figure out how to make this 🙂 I want it as much for a cake cover as for a fruit cover… when the hot weather hits, my fresh fruit attracts far too many bugs :s This would keep them off!

long planter box

DIY Long Planter Box:

The front of your house is in some serious need of some curb appeal. But it needs to be easy, and off the ground (we’ve got a serious “Sticker” problem). I think with a little adjusting we can make this long enough to stretch across the length of the front porch 😀 Hubs will be home today… maybe we can knock this on off the list right away!

Laying my own patio

Build a Basic Outdoor Patio

This has been on my to do list for a while… but now that spring is here I am MAKING THIS HAPPEN!! Even if I have to do it myself! I love spending time outside, but there is really nowhere to do it in comfort in our back yard…. it’s all grass, so if I want to hang outside, it’s usually on a blanket on the ground. While not a bad option, its gets old after a while. I need a place to set up a table and maybe a covered swing… I’d never go inside!!

build a raised garden bed

Build a Raised Garden:

It doesn’t have to be big. In fact, I’d prefer to start small since I’ve never been a “gardener” before. Thankfully Positively Splendid has awesome info on building one and maintaining it! And yes, I know I need to get on this ASAP!

I also really want to make some wind chimes, some sort of stacked planter box, and a pallet lounge bed 🙂 I’m gonna be a little bit busy this spring aren’t I?? LOL

Whats on your project list this spring?

Love the cake cover! I have some painting projects for this spring and getting through my college classes. I hope you get it all done especially the backyard patio.

All doable things….good luck, and have fun!
Also, as a former porch-builder, I highly recommend making sure the area is free of weeds before paying porch (put down some visqueen, or spray, or whatever) to keep down the ones that will grow through the cracks and distort your tiles.
