After a long day of work, it’s nice to sit back and relax with a summer cocktail. This recipe for Blackberry Margaritas is the one I’ll be reaching for all summer long!
I’m fortunate enough to have a blackberry bush on the property line we share with one of the neighbors. We take turns watering it, and share the bounty when they’re in season! I snack on tasty blackberries most mornings when I take the dogs out in the morning in the spring… and now I can’t get enough of them!
When it comes to the perfect summer cocktail, there are few drinks more iconic than a margarita! I figured a batch of margaritas with some fresh and delicious blackberries was exactly the thing I need at the end of a crazy busy work day!
Blackberry Margaritas Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1.5 ounces Tequila
- .5 ounce Triple Sec
- 4 ounces Original Margarita Mix
- 10+ fresh blackberries
Directions:
In a tall glass, muddle blackberries.
Muddling helps release the delicious flavors of the fresh berries so that it binds with the alcohol better
Add tequila, triple sec, and margarita mix.
Add these alcohols to the same glass as the muddles berries, and give a stir.
Pour into cocktail shaker, with ice and shake well.
If you don’t have one, you cane get a cocktail shaker here. Using a shaker is key, because it allows for a quicker cooling of the drink before serving, while mixing everything together for the best flavor.
(Optional) Dip rim of glass in water and dip in sugar or salt.
Grab your margarita glasses for this step. Personally for a sweet margarita like this blackberry version, I prefer a berry flavored sugar rim.
Pour into glass (and add more ice if desired)
You can use pretty much any glass for this blackberry margaritas recipe, mason jar glasses tend to be my go to. I’ve also been eyeballing these adorable cactus glasses and might just splurge on a set for my birthday 🙂
Garnish with blackberries, if desired.
Grab your favorite garnish sticks and skewer a couple of additional blackberries for the perfect finishing touch.
Serve and Enjoy (responsibly of course)
This Blackberry Margaritas recipe mixes up quick and easy! It’s just the thing to kick back with on a hot summer day. So grab your favorite people, mix up a batch and enjoy with the ones you love!
