Y’all probably know by know that I LOVE sewing. I might even be a little bit addicted to it ๐ A couple of weeks ago, and just in time for my most recent Quilting Retreat Weekend, I was given a chance to make a new Louisa Bag for Clover and Violet! They gave me this beautiful bag pattern to play with and use fun, modern fabrics on!
I think the hardest thing about making this bag was deciding what fabrics I wanted it use! I *mostly* shopped my stash for the teals and mints, added in a grey polka dot for the lining and an unbleached muslin for the sides and bottom. I ended up adding in a batik and solid once I got to the quilting retreat ๐ I needed 2 more fabric options and the quilt shop at the retreat had the perfect fabric options ๐
I think it turned out pretty darn good! I’m madly in love with the way the fabrics work together and I think I made some pretty good choices ๐
I’m so glad that Clover & Violet had enough confidence in my sewing abilities to give me a chance to try this Louisa Bag pattern! Even if I chickened out on the inner pocket… its supposed to be a interior lined zipper pocket… and It made me a little nervous, so I did a basic large pocket instead.
Every where I go with this beauty, I’m getting compliments. I love being able to say “Yes! I did make this.” and “I agree! It really is an awesome bag!” ๐ I’m planning on making at least one or 2 more of these in the not too distant future! I think I need one in corals and maybe on in blues! Oh! Oh! Oh! I need one in pinks too ๐
It's a gorgeous bag! I envy you the patience, persistence, and passion required to keep sewing. Great job!
You did a great job with the bag. I like the colors and pattern.
Great job, I love the color, perfect for spring and summer!!! I have bought so many patterns and fabric and have never used any of them, think I need to sell my supplies.
