Fall is my all time favorite season when it comes to the weather and nature surrounding us, and just in general actually. I mean it is just truly beautiful to see the leaves change from green to bright red, orange, and yellow and they are falling around you…it is a magical experience. Some places across the United States give off a bit more of a beautiful sight of the Fall weather than others. Today I will be sharing with you a few of the most beautiful spots in the United States to see all of the stunning Fall Foliage.
1. Bar Harbor, Maine: Bar Harbor is beautiful during the Fall season and it is a great place to visit because it is the home to Acadia National Park and you can do so many activities such as trail walking, enjoying nature and wildlife around you, all while being surrounded by the gorgeous leaves and trees surrounding you. You pretty much can’t go wrong with Maine in general when it comes to beautiful fall foliage!
2. The Catskills, New York: The Catskills are truly beautiful. It is filled with 35 mountain peaks and beautiful nature and scenery. It is also the home to the Woodstock festival. The Fall foliage is flourishing and a breathtaking sight to see. You can enjoy the beautiful views and nature from one of the many Bed and Breakfasts around the town.
3. Great Smoky Mountains: The smokies are located in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and it is one of the most visited spots in the country. I think this is due to Gatlinburg being such a beautiful sight to see all year round, but most definitely in the Fall season. There are tons of trails to walk and take in the beauty around you. The trees are filled with gorgeous warm Fall colors and you are bound to see some wildlife including bears and squirrels, it is truly amazing.
4. Upper Peninsula, Michigan: The foliage surrounding The Great Lakes is a can’t miss experience that you will want to see. The beautiful fall colors of the leaves and trees surrounding the waters of the The Great Lakes is breathtaking, the combination of the two is one of the most amazing sights. I would highly recommend it.
5. Columbia River Valley, Oregon: You wouldn’t necessarily expect Oregon to be on this list, but boy it is not one that you want to skip out on. Taking a hike up to Multnomah Falls is one of most beautiful Fall sceneries that you can possibly imagine. As if the waterfall is not enough, the beautiful Fall colors surrounding it make for that much more of an amazing experience. On the Trail there is a bridge in which you can stand and just take in all of the beauty around you.
These few places are famous for their beautiful Fall foliage. And this is the perfect time of year for a road trip! Get your car serviced, pack up some snacks and an overnight bag and hit the road!
I know there are so many more cities and towns that offer the same beautiful Fall scenery but these are just a few that in my personal opinion cannot be missed out on. These sights will really take your breath away, trust me!
