Then of course there are the classic road trip games, like Punch Buggy and I Spy, you know the ones we grew up playing!

– “I spy with my little eye…” Yes you probably guessed it, I-spy! This may be the greatest travel game invented. Requiring only your imagination, you save on packing space too!

–  One of the best games to stop the “are we there yets” from coming, is the Map Game! How It Works –  Go through your route and print out different signs and points of interest that you’ll be passing (ex. Town Names). Then mix then up and give the same number to each kid. Also give the kids a larger map with the starting and ending point marked. Then when they see the sign that matches, whoever has it will shout out and they can plot it out on the map. The kids will already know how where they are AND they won’t have to ask that dreaded question!

– The Name Game. Once again, a game that only requires your brain and some creativity! Start with a category, like celebrities or people you know. Then the first person starts with a name… lets say Justin Bieber, the next person has to name a celebrity with a name starting with B – the first letter of the celebrity’s last name. Depending on the category you choose, this game can go on for hours!

– Name That Tune. This one is easy and travel packing friendly 🙂 All you need is your Mp3 player! Create a family friendly play list, hit random and then let the song play for 2 seconds of the lyrics and then press pause. Challenger the players to sing the rest of the first line of that song. For bonus points, the player can name the song and who sings it. First player to reach a set number of points Wins!

Do you have any favorite Road Trip Games and Activities that aren’t included on this list? I’d love to know what they are!
