Add some fun and patriotic colors to your family gatherings with this red white and blue pom pom pillow!
One of my favorite things growing up and then into my teen years, was camping on the May long weekend. Since moving to Texas, that hasn’t happened too much, but we have started a new tradition!
At some point on the long weekend, we get together for a meal. We spend a few hours hanging outside on the patio. We eat, talk about life and play with the dogs.
This year I’m adding some festive color to the occasion! This red white and blue pom pom pillow is a fun way to add some patriotic decor!
This pillow combines the applique techniques I’ve used on past projects like this “Hustle” hoodie and my Home State Tee and the basic pillow making concepts in this post. Add in some pom poms on the ends and we’ve got a winner!
I’ve made a lot of pillows and pillow covers over the last few years. This Red White and Blue Pom Pom Pillow may very well be at the top of my favorites list!
I was able to use fabrics that I had on hand. I’ve slowly been collecting and carefully hoarding some Americana type fabrics and lots of red, white and blue fabrics for a “someday quilt”! In the mean time, I’ll keeping dipping into my precious fabrics if it means that ideas like this one can come to life!
The Red White and Blue Pom Pom Pillow finished at 16 inches long and 9 inches tall. Its the perfect size to add support and comfort when sitting in our wrought iron patio set this coming long weekend! I also made the oversize red white and blue herringbone patterned pillow. Its 18 x 18 inches and I’ll be gifting that one to my Mother-in-Law for hosting us next weekend!
This Red White and Blue Pom Pom Pillow is mine to keep and will look fantastic in the living room! I’m thinking I need to find some blue and white striped fabric and some sort of red and silver fabric so that I can make another version of this pillow, but reverse the colors!
Pin for later:

Very cute and as a Brit I feel I could easily just omit the wording and it would totally still be patriotic.
