One Little Word – Unfolding

Are you excited for January and the New Year?? I am! This is one of my favorite months for the inspiration it brings, the fresh starts and choosing a new “word” for the year! I love the one little word concept and have chosen a word for the last several years!

This year, my one little word is “unfolding”…

Unfolding –

to bring out of a folded state; spread or open out:
to spread out or lay open to view.
to reveal or display.
to become unfolded; open.
to develop.
to become clear, apparent, or known

flowering – growth – progress – increase – flourish – evolving – perfecting – expansion
one word - unfolding
Everything I want to be, do, see and accomplish in 2016 can be described by this one little word – unfolding. 2016 will be a year of growth, perfecting, increase, flourishing, and progress. In fact we’re only a few days into the new year and I am already starting to see just how perfect this word is for me and my dreams this year!

Of course I had to turn my one little word into something that I could look at, enjoy and to be a continual reminder of what I want out of this year. So I stitched it out, along with my “Sub words” or as perfectly described in one of my favorite facebook groups, my “Core Desired Feelings”. When I look back at the end of 2016, these are the feelings I want to identify. I want to learn, grow, progress, perfect, increase and fiercely flourish throughout the unfolding of 2016.
When I think of “unfolding” I think of a flower and the individual petals… each petal being one of many aspects of life these days, slowly unfolding, unfurling and blooming into a beautiful flower. That is my life in 2016. A beautiful flower that has only just begun to unfold and bloom.
