Are you looking for things to do in Austin? You’ve come to the right place! Austin is one of the most well known cities in Texas. It’s known for its food, fun, and exciting things to do.

Whether you’re just passing through or you have some time to spend in Austin, here are a few off the beaten path things to do in Austin.

Zilker Metropolitan Park

If you love to explore, you’re going to enjoy Zilker Metropolitan Park. This park has over 350 acres of publicly owned land. This means you could spend all day here enjoying life! This park is also considered Austin’s most loved park. So, if you’ve never been, go ahead and explore it. There are 3 picnic sites, a playscape, Disc Golf course, and much more.

Blanton Museum of Art

Want to spend time in Austin? Head to the Blanton Museum of Art. Not everyone knows about this art museum, but it’s worth checking out. This place has tons of exhibitions and events happening every week. You can explore temporary exhibitions each year, so check it out.

Barton Springs Municipal Pool

Sometimes when you are in a new city, you need to head to the local pool. The Barton Springs Municipal Pool is filled with water from a natural spring. The channel of Barton Creek and Main Barton Spring help make sure this pool is filled with water. How cool is that? This is one off the beaten path things to do in Austin that you will want to check out.

Cathedral of Junk

If you were driving down the road and saw the Cathedral of Junk, you’d probably be in love. This is one off the beaten path attraction everyone needs to see. Basically, it’s a shelter made with used furniture and other junk. Get out of your car and get up close to the Cathedral of Junk. I guarantee you won’t see anything like this anywhere else. You can take pictures of this pile of junk, but also see how resourceful the makers of it are.

If you’re looking for off the beaten path things to do in Austin, hopefully these activities will keep you happy. Make sure you get your car a tuneup before you leave on your adventure!

If you’re headed to San Antonio next, be sure out to check out this list of things to do there!
