For the past 2 ish years, my husband has worked night shift at a local company. With that job came odd hours and days off during the week… never the weekend. We adapted. We learned to enjoy his days off, even if it meant that I had 2 “mondays”. Well that’s all changed. Hubby accepted a new job that has him driving during the day and all over the state! He’ll be gone some nights, but home plenty… but he get real weekends off! All of these changes mean that this first weekend is not an average weekend for us!
Hubs has to leave for 4 days of orientation and training on monday, so we’re soaking up lots and lots of time together and getting some house stuff taken care of before he leaves 🙂 We’re off to the local trade days now… Stay tuned monday for a post about our first “real people” weekend! 🙂
Congrats! My boyfriend's weekend is Sunday/Monday (as a Harley Davidson mechanic), so we have odd weekends as well (and once I start working, only 1 day weekends, which makes me sad). I know the frustration and awkwardness that comes with having to adapt to that….and now it'll be a whole new adventure, shopping and socializing on the same days off as 98% of the population. Yay! 😀
