A couple of weeks ago I put out a call for contributors… specifically a recipe and kids craft contributor. I’m still looking for a kids craft contributor (email me if you’re interested) but I am happy to announce that I’ve found my recipe contributor!! I want ya’ll to meet Ashley!

I sent Ashley some questions so we could all get to know here a bit better 🙂
What is your favorite Color?
Red, more specifically – Crimson
Craziest thing you have ever done?
Move to Kansas City with no job and a little bit of money between my husband and I. Definitely a big risk!
If you could go back in time, where would you go/do/be?
I would go back to college and TRY HARDER. I was an average student, but I really wish I had realized how great it was while I was there instead of just trying to hurry up and move on to the next thing in life.
Favorite recipe of all time?
My mom’s fried chicken. It gets rave reviews every time I make it and it’s relatively easy to make once you’ve learned all of the tricks
What is the one food you hate most?
Olives. Bleh! I hate their flavor when it’s present in anything. Ick!
You can take 3 items with you to a desert island… what would they be?
A journal
A fishing pole
A nice floppy hat 🙂
Weirdest thing you’ve ever dressed up at Halloween as?
A yellow crayon. It was a group thing, actually kind of cute! 🙂
Who is you cooking/baking idol?
Ree Drummond (The Pioneer Woman)! That is my kind of food and I just think she is the most adorable person! She only lives 4 hours away from me and I’ve thought about driving to Oklahoma and stalking her a time or two.
Why cooking???
For as long as I can remember, the kitchen has been my favorite place. It started by watching my mom cook and bake, and only got better. My first job in the kitchen was cracking the eggs and eventually I was stirring, measuring and helping with whatever she was making. I feel like the best place for friends, and even enemies, to gather together is over a delicious home-cooked meal. There isn’t much that a platter of fried chicken with biscuits can’t solve. That being said, for me, cooking is the way I express my love for the people in my life!
I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty excited that Ashley is going to be a part of the BBJ team 🙂 She knocked it out of the park with her first post, Raspberry Almond Chocolate Chunk Skillet Cookie Recipe! And She’ll be back soon with another awesome recipe 🙂
