There is something about September that instantly cause a shift in my taste buds! I go from craving light and summer salads and meals, to wanting ALL the comfort foods! Oh and the desserts too! Like this Maple Apple Cinnamon Coffee Cake… it is EVERYTHING fall is supposed to taste like!

This Maple Apple Cinnamon Coffee Cake is the PERFECT fall dessert to share with family and friends! Seriously! Unless you’d like them to leave eventually… because there is a good chance that they won’t leave until they’ve been allowed to lick the pan!

Maple Apple Cinnamon Coffee Cake Ingredients

1 CAN Pillsbury cinnamon rolls
1 can Apple pie filling
2 Tbsp Butter
¼ C Brown Sugar
4 tsp Maple syrup
¼ C Walnuts
1 tsp Maple extract (optional)

Maple Apple Cinnamon Coffee Cake Directions

Preheat oven to 350
In a small baking dish (7 x 11 or so), pour melted butter and sprinkle the brown sugar on top the butter.
Drizzle the maple syrup and sprinkle the nuts over top the butter/brown sugar mixture.
Cut each of the 5 biscuits into quarters. Give each a brief roll to form a ball.
Place the biscuit pieces on the baking pan
Add the maple extract to the apple pie filling and mix well (optional step)
Spoon the pie filling in dollops over the top of the pieces
Bake for 30 – 40 minutes or until golden
Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
Carefully, turn over the baking dish onto a platter
Drizzle with both the prepared icing that comes with the packet as well as plenty of maple syrup.
Enjoy!
