Practical Tips for Managing Your Anxiety:

Learn To Spot It Early

One of the most important things you can do when it comes to managing your anxiety is to pay attention to the signs and signals – mental, physical and emotional. It takes practice, but learning to spot those signs as early as you possibly can will make a difference.

Knowing what to look for and be aware of equips you with a stronger ability to manage triggers and take measures to stop anxiety in its tracks. This essentially comes down to being more mindful in your day to day life, which is something that we could all benefit from in some way or another.

Be more mindful, spot your anxiety arising early, and you will be able to do something about it before it gets too bad on each occasion. That is a powerful ability to have.

Be Careful How You Self-Medicate

It is very common for people with anxiety to self-medicate, which they may do in a variety of ways. It is important, however, that you pay close attention to how you do this, if you do it at all.

It may be relatively harmless to do something like self-medicating with essential oils or a little CBD, but if you are finding yourself smoking or drinking heavily then that is not going to be doing you any good at all. Learn how to clean your glass pipe or bong for good, find a tactic for putting your booze away, and instead focus on more down-to-earth methods for dealing with your anxiety.

In the long run, drinking and so on tend to make anxiety worse, not better. Not to mention that it can be harder to be aware of signals and triggers of your anxiety!

Take It One Day At A Time

As we have said, it is important that you take it easy as you try to overcome your anxiety. It might well be the work of a lifetime to completely overcome your anxiety, and you should be prepared to have to be patient with yourself.

The last thing you need is to make yourself feel bad about it by putting too much pressure on yourself. Instead, have a relaxed attitude towards it and try to take it one day at a time. You should find that you are going to be able to manage your anxiety day by day much more easily that way.

Managing your anxiety really boils down to compiling the tools, knowledge and life hacks that work best for you. It takes time to learn what to watch for and how to deescalate anxiety when it arises.

But it is possible, and I am living proof that you can do it too!
