This post is brought to you in part by MPRM and Ghostbusters. I received free product in exchange for my opinion.
Could there possibly be a more perfect movie for this years Halloween viewing pleasure than the new “Ghostbusters”?? I was so excited when I saw the first previews come out earlier this year, and one of my BFF’s and I made plans to see it opening night! To celebrate the new Ghostbusters release AND Halloween being just a week away, I’ve been Boo-ing the neighborhood! After all, I’m pretty much Just Here for the Boos! 😉
I knew exactly what I wanted to create for out next door neighbor. She’s always admired some of my hoop art, and LOVE halloween… so badda-boom-badda-bing! This Just Here for the Boos hoop art was born!
And whips up super quick!
What you’ll need to make your own “Just Here for the Boos” hoop art:
8 inch embroidery hoop
10 inch square of Black fabric ( I used flannel)
white felt
white and black embroidery floss
scissors
embroidery needle
fabric pen/pencil for adding your text pattern
Step #1 Using your fabric pen, add your text “Just here for the Boos” to your fabric.
Step #2 Add your fabric to the embroidery hoop, and center it towards the bottom.
Step #3 Using the scissors, cut 3 ghost shapes out of the white felt and stitch in place with the white embroidery floss. Add faces with the black embroidery floss.
Step #4 Use the white floss to stitch your words.
Step #5 Finish off your hoop by sealing the fabric in the back.
Now back to Boo-ing the neighbors… You’ll need lots of candy, a card or printable so they know whats going on, a stick to display your hoop art on until they can hang it, and your own copy of Ghostbusters! Adding in some popcorn wouldn’t be a bad idea either!
You can bet your Halloween candy, that I’d be THRILLED to find a package like this on my porch! Its just as much fun, if not even MORE fun to be the giver! I totally rang the door bell, and then ran away and hid so I could see her expression 🙂
Have you “Boo’d” your neighbors yet?

I have three kids so I’m always instantly attracted to anything in groups of threes, LOL. Super cute! Our neighborhood did the “You’ve been boo’d” last Halloween and it was so much fun.

I start this every year in our neighborhood, it’s been a long standing tradition with my kids. We always have fun shaking up what we’ll put inside the basket and try to come up with fun and unexpected things like movie night, caramel apple kit, etc. Thanks for sharing on To Grandma’s House We Go!
