Health is the real wealth. One of the components in staying healthy is exercise. A lot of studies have been written to espouse its many positives like keeping heart disease at bay, releasing toxins in the body, revving up metabolism, and the like. Some people, however, have many excuses that they can’t haul their ass off to the gym. But that’s all a load of bull because if there’s a will, there’s a way.

In fact, you don’t need to go to the gym to get a good workout. You can do it in the comfort of your own house, while saving on gym membership, fancy workout gear, time spent on driving, and of course, gasoline. Never underestimate a good home workout.

Body Weight Training

Pop on a good pair of sneakers and you’re good to go. Body weight training means using your own body’s weight as a leverage, so you can get an even tougher workout. You can do circuit training with your own body weight with moves like jumping jacks, burpees, mountain climbers, lunges, planks, and the like.

This training requires that you do one move for 60 to 90 seconds and then take a break. You can do several sets before moving onto the next one. What’s nice about this exercise is you can tailor fit it to suit your needs. If you’re an advance fitness buff, you can even use the same moves for a high intensity interval training (hiit).

There are numerous WOTD or workout of the day programs or pictographs available in Facebook and IG. Just plug in those keywords in the search box and you’ll find a variety which you can do every day so you’ll never get bored.

Resistance Training

Resistance is futile, pun intended. Don’t resist any encouragements to workout because these pieces of advice are given for your own benefit. Working out is not just cardio but strength training too. There are two ways to do this at home.

First is to use milk gallons filled with water that may act as your cheap alternative to dumbbells. From bicep curls, shoulder press, tricep extension, and the like, you can use these plastic gallons as your creative version of weights.

The second one is going for resistance bands, which act in the same capacity. they can also target the legs so you can work on getting them to be shapely. You can get these cheap bands at any sporting goods store.

Workout Video

With an access to wifi, there is a goldmine of workout videos available on youtube, Netflix, and the like. There are many forms to choose from: taebo, Zumba, yoga, hiit training, belly dance, walking, and many more.

Being given a wide array of choices leaves you with no excuse not be able to find one suited to your liking. And the best part, all these videos come free just as long as you have access to the internet. There’s simply no excuse not to sweat it out.

Shaking your booty is vital to your health and well being. If you want to look young and you want to feel young, too, then take the necessary measures to be fit today (just make sure you take the necessary precautions to avoid workout injuries!). After all, being physically fit and not physically fat is the kindest option to your joints, muscles, and heart.
