Everybody Needs an Intern!

This post may contain affiliate or brand partner links. Read our full disclosure here.

Seriously! Everybody needs an intern, especially if you’re a small, handmade biz owner! AND you have a new puppy that demands all of your waking moments… Interns are very handy things to have 🙂

My Intern - Savannah - BusyBeingJennifer.com

It took all of 5 minutes for Bliss to try and hijack my intern! He was so excited that there was someone else to love on him! You might recognize my intern, Savannah, from some of my product photo shoots in the past (here and here) and as my lovely cowl/scarf  model in the shop. She’s done school, has a whole bunch of free time on her hands and wanted to learn more about what I do/get out of the house 🙂 I offered her a summer internship and she started on Tuesday 🙂 Just in time to help me get a bunch of stuff done for the June Market this weekend 🙂

My intern stuffs Patchy Bear Legs - BusyBeingjennifer.com

Mostly she stuffed Patchy Bear arms and legs for me, but she also was on puppy duty 🙂 Which she didn’t mind AT ALL. Pretty sure that was her favorite part so far LOL.

I loved having someone to chat with while I worked, and the extra set of hands to some of the more time consuming tasks associated with my handmade biz. Having someone to do one of my least favorite steps in the patchy bear process was a HUGE bonus for me and let me work on the things that only I can do.

Focus on the things that only YOU can do... - BusyBeingJennifer.com

Now there’s a life lesson for you… especially if you’re a small or handmade business owner, And a lesson that I have to remind myself of more often… Focus on the things that only YOU can do… and ask or get help for the rest!

Having Savannah helping me this summer is definitely go a long way in helping me max my productivity… especially with a new puppy in the house!

What are some of the things that only you can do? Do you get help for the rest? Or (like me) try to do everything yourself?
