We could all use a little help when it comes to the stress we have in our life! These essential oils for stress relief have helped me a TON! Read on for how I use them on a daily basis!

Essential Oils for Stress Relief

Catch up on laundry. Plan birthday party. Balance the checkbook. Pick up the kids. Sign up for spring break camps. Take out the trash. Life is busy! And with that we can find ourselves stressed out. While it is easy to tell someone to just take it easy, sometimes we need a little help in the area of stress relief.

Best Essential OIls for Stress Relief

According to the American Institute of Stress, stress is hard to define and is very subjective. We all have things we can handle, and we all have different stressors that just are too much to handle. Basically, we all have different pieces of straw that could break the camel’s back! When it comes to the best essential oils for stress relief, I think it is important to look at the type of stress.

If your stress is due to anxiety, you’ll want to consider an essential oil that has anti-anxiety properties, they include:

  • Black Pepper,
  • Bergamot,
  • Geranium
  • Jasmine,
  • Lavender,
  • Lemon Balm
  • Marjoram,
  • Roman Chamomile,
  • Sandalwood,
  • Valerian,
  • Tangerine,
  • Orange

If you find yourself to be stressed due to an inability to calm down, you may want to consider an essential oil that has a calming effect. These include:

  • Bergamot,
  • Geranium,
  • Jasmine,
  • Lavender,
  • Mandarin,
  • Neroli,
  • Palmarosa,
  • Patchouli,
  • Petitgrain,
  • Sandalwood,
  • Ylang Ylang

As you can see there are some that overlap between being calming and anti-anxiety. So, based on your needs and any allergies you have (if you have a citrus allergy, for example, tangerine and orange essential oils shouldn’t be used) you’ll want to try one of the above essential oils. Young Living has specific blends that give you a mix of oils pre-made and ready for you. If you want one less decision to make, that may be your best option. But these are some fabulous blends that I LOVE for helping to deal with stress and anxiety in my own life 🙂
