fall decorating ideas

Although it’s still blazing where I live in Texas (or maybe because of it) I am so ready for fall decorating!

As soon as the leaves turn, I’m going to be making a fall leaf banner with my kids, but until then, I have this book pumpkin that I made last year to sustain me.

I want to try more out-of-the-box (and above all easy) crafts this year to help celebrate fall. If you’re in the same boat, then you’ll love my round up of easy fall decorating ideas!

Paper Book Pumpkin

Nothing says fall like a book pumpkin. All it takes is an old book, some paint, an old stick, and a lot of time. Go here for the full tutorial.

Pumpkins in a Lantern

Who would have thought such a simple idea could be so elegant? You can be sure I’m going to copy this idea somewhere in my house this year!

whitefallplanterwreathplanter094Leaf Stamped Burlap

I think even my kids could do this one. Leaf stamped burlap makes the perfect faux rug for an outdoor porch (or you could also make a table runner from it). I love the simplicity of this idea.

chalkboardFall Chalkboard

We have a chalkboard in our hallway. Adding fall phrases is a simple way to bring the spirit of fall into the house without using literal leaves.

Fall-Mantel-VFall-Themed Letters

I’m not sure how Hoosier Homemade created her fall letters, but you can definitely recreate the look with painted cardboard or wood letters and make it say any fall phrase you want!

Regular acorns are too boring. Make them more fun and festive with paint!

Burlap-and-Leaves_thumbFall Candle

Honestly, it doesn’t get any easier than this. All you need are some faux leaves and some twine and you have instant fall candles! But don’t they look so pretty?

I’m just starting out in life decorating. We have a fireplace with a huge mantel, so I’ve decorated that.

Painting acorns seems like a fun toddler activity. And I just so happen to have a few lanterns. Never thought of filling them with pumpkins, but that looks really cute. Thanks for sharing!

You had me at “easy,” but throwing in “that ANYONE can do” sold me. 🙂 I love fall decorations, especially that cute lantern!
