I’ve been seeing these fabulous DIY Deer Head projects floating around… and I keep thinking to myself… those are so cool! I want one! But since my walls are a long way off from being pretty enough to have such fabulous things adorn them, I haven’t made one. Then one night… it hit me! Make it into an ornament! So this DIY Deer Head Ornament was born!
Its pretty simple really! So simple that I’ll let the pictures explain it for me 🙂
You’ll need pencil crayons, shrinking plastic stuff (I got mine on amazon) a hole punch, and the deer head template. I found this awesome FREE printable from Man Made, scaled it back to fit the precut 4″x5″ sheet of shrinking plastic. Taped the plastic over the template so it wouldn’t slide around and colored in the head. Using a ruler I added half-inch blue stripes, punched a hole in the center and then baked it according to the directions. Once it was cooled down I added some string and lovingly added it to our tree!
I think its pretty much my favorite thing one the tree right now. I love it even more than the mustache ornament! Well… maybe not more… but just as much! And I am thinking of doing a red and gold one!
Have you ever made ornaments with shrinking plastic? Its a lot of fun! And soooo super easy!
