Halloween Popcorn Balls used to be one of my favorite treats growing up. They are one of the most simple treats for spooky season, and there is no way you can go wrong with this recipe. All you need is some popcorn, marshmallows and other festive Halloween decorations for them and you’ll have a fun spooky treat in about 30 minutes!
The fun and bright colors, make this such a fun project for kids and adults to do together to celebrate Halloween. This homemade treat is super easy to make without needing a thermometer. I bet you have all the ingredients besides the candy eyes and food gel coloring at home right now to make these Halloween Popcorn Balls!

Halloween Popcorn Balls Recipe:
Makes 20 popcorn balls
Prep time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
16 cups popped popcorn (around 2/3 cup kernels)
5 tablespoons butter
1 16-ounce package mini marshmallows
Instructions:
In a large stock pot, heat the butter over medium heat until fully melted.
When the butter has melted, add the marshmallows and stir until melted.
Remove the pan from heat and add three to four drops of purple gel food coloring. Stir until well mixed and the marshmallows are bright purple.
Add the popcorn to the pan and stir to coat.
Allow the mixture to cool slightly. When it’s cool enough to touch, spray nonstick cooking spray on your hands and scoop out heaping tablespoons of the popcorn mixture. Roll the mixture between your hands to form a ball, then squeeze the ball until it’s compact.
Roll each popcorn ball in sprinkles, then decorate with candy eyes.
Stick a paper straw into the top of each popcorn ball and allow to cool completely before serving.
Once your Creepy Halloween Popcorn Balls are completely cool, it’s time to enjoy! Serve them on your favorite Halloween tray at your party or wrap them up in a plastic bag and tie with a spooky ribbon! That would be such a cute Halloween party treat/favor, don’t you think!?
However and wherever you serve this fun popcorn treat, it’s sure to be a hit!
