Buy Handmade and Make a Difference!

This post may contain affiliate or brand partner links. Read our full disclosure here.

Did you know that when you buy handmade you’re making a difference? Sometimes its just a small difference in the handmade artists life, sometimes its a big difference in the lives of people who need it most. For a while now I’ve been supporting Reaching out Romania, a prominent advocacy group in the struggle against human trafficking in Romania. 25% of each sale I’ve made through Homespun Happiness has gone to make a difference in the lives of women in Romania. And its making a big difference! You can read more about this amazing group of women and how I’m trying to help .

As a blogger I am randomly introduced to the most interesting people. Sometimes its through a giveaway and sometimes it’s because I’m curious and start following people on instagram. Recently I stumbled across Jill from 99WPM, let me tell you, the woman is a total sweet heart! I can’t say I know her well… but in the past week or so she has really inspired me! Jill started Jill’s Freedom Project through the Mocha Club and wants to make a difference in the lives of 2 women that are currently at risk. The cost? $800. $800 to bring two women and their children out of bondage and into glorious freedom! I’d say that’s a small price to pay! But at the same time, I don’t have $800 lying around.

I want to make a difference, I want to help Jill!

Buy handmade, support Jill's Freedom project.

So for the next week, July 9th to 16th, everything in the Homespun Happiness shop is 25% off. No discount needed. 25% of every sale will go to support Reaching out Romania as usual, but another 25% of every sale will be going to wards Jill’s Freedom Project! I hope you’ll do some handmade shopping and make a difference in the lives of women around the world that could really use our help!

This is awesome, Jennifer! Sharing and pinning to my "Handmade makes me Happy" pin board. It is heartwarming to see handmade businesses reaching out all over the world to help others in need. What a beautiful thing you are doing!
