Ever notice how there are just some things that never seem to come up in a conversation (or blog posts)? Sometimes its because you don’t want to talk about it, and sometimes its because you forget to bring it up! Well… I bet you don’t know a bunch of things about me, so I thought it would be fun to share of the more random facts of just who the Blonde is behind Busy Being Jennifer.
Bet you didn’t know…
… That there is a 15 year age difference between me and the Hubs. Not something I ever really talk about, mostly because I could care less… but it might bring a little insight to some of the things that drive me nuts about the man. He does NOT get the whole blogging thing, or that my online shop/biz is actually successful. He doesn’t have facebook, instagram or twitter…
…That I have step kids. 2 to be exact. Oh and a step grand daughter! And I haven’t met any of them. The Hubby’s kids are hours and hours away from us and haven’t visited him in years. His daughter does text him and share pics of the grand-baby. But that’s about it. (Totally sad about this BTW!)
… I have a ridiculous obsession with Snyders by Hanover’s Cheddar Cheese Pretzel Pieces. Its silly really. I am actually saddened when my local little Walmart doesn’t have them in stock. It’s the one snack food I just can’t get enough of. I’m trying to pace myself though… too many carbs! LOL
… I was homeschooled from kindergarten through grade 12. I know I’ve mentioned the homeschooled part before, but I don’t think I ever talked about being homeschooled for every grade. My only regret about that is that I didn’t get typical high school experiences like Prom or organized sports. Not that I would have been playing… but I would have like to have gone to cheer on my school. Things I am glad I missed about “real High School” – bullying, gym class, and biology.
… that my favorite thing to do in the entire world is hiding in my room for hours at a time and getting lost in a good book. That’s pretty much how I spent my childhood. Being sent to my room was never a punishment… even if my Mom took away my books… I usually had a couple hidden somewhere 😀 Oh the sneaky-ness of kids. Lol
… that my parents were divorced when I was 20. Its one of those serious things that you don’t talk about on a regular basis, but still influences your every day life. At 20 I moved out on my own and that was that. I haven’t had much of a relationship with my Dad until recently. Moving to Texas changed that! Thank goodness 🙂
OK… I think that’s enough random and personal info for one post 😉 Now its your turn! What is something random that you don’t ever really talk about or people probably don’t know?

My parents were divorced when I was 16. I so know the feeling all too well.
I need to do this! I have a lot I could say 🙂

My hubby and I are also 15 years apart. Nice to meet another couple like us. We'll celebrate 29 years together next week 🙂

I was homeschooled my whole life, too. I did get to join a local school for high school theater and acting competitions, so I didn't have to miss out on the "organized activities" of high school–I loved that. 15 year age difference is not quite so common, that's for sure. My husband is 7 years older, and we got engaged when I was 18 and he was 25–some people thought that was a little weird, but my family was always really supportive. I always think we're the same age till he talks about the 90s, which I don't remember.

I can relate to the part where people who are close to you don't get the instagram thing or blogging in general. I have kept a little personal blog for years and people give me strange looks when it comes up in conversations. So I don't really mention it anymore. Very recently I have started a new blog together with a very close friend of mine and I am more confident about this one. But I cannot stop wondering why people share the tiniest details of their lives on facebook but still give you strange looks when you talk about your blog.

Thats sooo true! People talk about the most intimate details of their lives on FB, but think its weird that a blogger might mention her children or health issues. Its silly really!

I was homeschooled all the way through as well! But I was able to convince my parents to let me go to prom, and in our town you could play organized sports up until high school.
