When you are planning your big day, it can be very easy for you to forget about things. You have so much to think about and you also have to consider your budget as well. This can be difficult to do, but by following this guide, you’ll soon find that it is easier than ever for you to get yourself organised for the big day.
Your Marriage License
One important thing that you need to remember is to check with the jurisdiction to find out where your ceremony is going to be. You also need to check the deadlines when applying for your marriage license in advance as well, as this will help you to prepare for your big day. By gathering your documents early, you can then be sure to have everything you need to make your wedding everything you hoped it would be.
Vendor Meals
You have to remember that your vendors will be working non-stop to try and make your day everything you hoped it would be, so don’t be afraid to help them out a bit. You will be expected to provide a final guest count to your caterer at least 2 weeks in advance. You will also have to include members of your planning group as well so that a simple meal can be prepared for them. Some vendors will give you this option at half the cost, so don’t be afraid to include your videographer, your photographer, band members and even planners. If you need a planner then
consider Vittore Buzzi Photography.
Favours
Wedding favours are not required at all, but they are a nice way for you to thank your guests. Your favours should never be an afterthought. You need to order them two months in advance so you can prepare them, and by doing this you also have so much extra time to plan for your big day.
Guestbook
It is so important that you include something for your guests so that they can leave their
well-wishes for you when they arrive. They can write something memorable to you as a couple and they can also document their own memories as well. If you don’t have anything like this sorted out right now, then you need to get something put into place because if you leave it too long then you might not be able to get it delivered on-time. This is especially the case if you are choosing a guest book that is custom-made.
Cake Knives
You’d be surprised at how many brides actually forget their cake knives and toasting flutes. If you want to make your day really special then you can use ones that have been handed down through the generations, or you can even have one custom made if you want. Of course, if you want to keep your knives then you need to go to reception and collect them.
If you have the champagne flutes that you used to do your first toast, then pack these as well. When you do this, you can then have a special memory of the big day and most hotels would be happy to accommodate this request. Try and pack the flutes properly and even ask the hotel if they have a spare box that you can use. This will help you to avoid getting glass everywhere if they break in transit and it will also help you to store them when you arrive back home.
Technology Chargers
When you are due to get ready in your bridal suite, you need to make sure that you have all of the right technology chargers you need. If you are using your iPod for the reception music or if you want to have your first dance song played from a device, then bring the charger and also make sure that you have the right connection for your DJ. You need to put the phone on charge overnight as well, so you have charge for the big day. Leaving for your honeymoon right after the wedding can be a great way for you to make the most out of your experience, so charge your phone on the day of your wedding as well to make sure that it has charge for the journey. This is especially the case if you are going to have an E-Ticket for the flight.
Passports
On the subject of honeymoons, you have to make sure that your driver’s license and even your passport is up to date. You will also need to put it in your carry-on luggage too. Security won’t let you on the plane if you don’t have the right identification, so take care of this before your big day. You might also want to find a way to take any wedding photos with you as well so that you can look through them when you arrive at the destination. One way for you to do this would be for you to set up a cloud system, where everyone can upload their own photos for your perusal. If you are struggling here, then your wedding planner may be able to help you out with that.
Thank you Notes
It is easy to let things slip away when you have so much going on, but you should really send out thank you notes to your guests before you go on your honeymoon. You should do this no later than two months after your wedding day. You don’t need to get it all done at once either. You can actually spend 15 minutes a day writing out a few cards. You also need to remember the important people in your life as well, including people from the bridal party. You may want to include a nicer note for these individuals because at the end of the day, they were the ones who stood by you from the start and they also helped you on the big day to make sure that you had everything you needed sorted out in time.
Add these friendly reminders to your to do lists and wedding plans and things will go just a little bit smoother on the BIG day!

This is a wonderful list of things to do before the wedding. I remember forgetting to bring my phone charger to the wedding day and being very sad when my phone died. Thanks for the tips.
