Sooo… Yesterday was my birthday! Happy Birthay to me!! I turned 35 and I might be just a little bit freaked out about it, but at the same time totally cool about it. In honor of this auspicious occassion, I thought I’d reflect and share! The best way to do that? A numbered list of course – 35 things about me!

35 things about me! aka BusyBeingJennifer

#1. I have been in Texas for a little over 7 years. This place is definitely my home now.

#2. I am the oldest of 6. I love my younger brothers and sisters and miss them quite a bit. We knew how to have a good time when we got together.

#3. I was 19 when my parents got divorced. This was both a blessing and a curse – Blessing because I got to have both of my parents in my life for almost 20 years. A curse because no one wants to see their family go through that, but also because I was in a weird spot in my relationship with my mom and I got too many details and too much informatiion about the details of the end of their marriage. Not child, regardless of age should have to bear that burden.

#4. I love coffee (shocking, I know)

#5. When asked what I wanted to be as a kid, I would always respond with “A mom”. Mostly becuase I didn’t know what I acutally wanted to be and I was often told that I “would be an amazing mother one day”

#6. I do not, in fact, want to be a mom. Mother’s are amazing creatures, but I have realized that traditional motherhood is not for me. There are a ton of different ways to “mother” and I have found that I make a really good mentor, can impact lives through mentorship, and I love it! Babies on the other hand… *shudder*

#7. I love babies! I know, I know, a direct contradition to the above thing about me, but I love babies that I can snuggle, kiss, and then hand back 😉

#8. I was married once before. This isn’t something I talk about all that often, just because its such a distant part of my past, but it taught me a LOT about myself! One day I might share more….

#9. I was trained in the art of glue-gunning by the worlds greatest Nana. She fostered my love for creativity, learning new things and taught me soooo much.

#10. My Nana passed away when I was 18 and I still miss her every day.

#11. I fully believe in signs from the universe. I see them daily and know that my loved ones that have gone before me are keeping watch and guiding me when needed.

#12. I’ve had a long standing love affair with books. For as long as I can remember, escaping into another world through the pages of a book has been my favorite way to spend my time. When I was a kid, it was quite common for me to be caught reading into the wee hours of the morning, often by flashlight.

#13. 13 is my favorite number. Most people think its unlucky… I disagree! the 13th was the day I was born and has had significant meaning for a bunch of other reasons. 13 is my LUCKY number 🙂

#14. My favorite TV show in the history ove EVER is ALIAS starring Jennifer Garner. In fact I like it so much I have a tattoo on my hand that is inspired by one that is on the show 🙂 I really hope they revive it or make an ALIAS movie one day. In the mean time I get my ALIAS fix at least yearly, via the limited edition gold box set that has the entire series (basically my #1 prized posession)

#15. My favorite soda is Dr. Pepper. 2nd favorite is root beer (brand doesn’t matter too much).

#16. I inherited my love for football from my Dad. And only THIS YEAR found out that he’d been offered a scholarship to play college ball in Tennessee! Obviously he didn’t go. He blew out his knee at the end of his senior year. 🙁

#17. I’ve moved over 25 times in my life.

#18. I’ve lived in our home in Texas for 7 years, and that is the longest I have EVER lived in a single home.

#19. I have been blogging for 7 connsecutive years this month!!

#20. I have a 40 before 40 list that I haven’t looked at in 3 or 4 years…. probably time to do an update on that list huh?

At the risk of this post being entirely too wordy and long and annoying, I’ve decided to break it into 2 parts! So come back tomorrow to read the next 15 things in my 35 things about me list!
