I was minding my own business, running some errands and heading to the store to get groceries… when I saw a sign. “Free Rat Terrier Puppies” it said… and I am sure you can imagine what happened next…
Say hello to Buffer – aka “Buffy”!
After getting groceries, I drove over to where the people with the sign were parked and hopped out, only to instantly recognize the lady holding a puppy! She was the lady we got Bitly from 2 and a half years ago! So I looked at the puppies, ooohhh’d and aaahhh’d for a few seconds and headed home to deliver the groceries.
You see, I had forgotten my cell phone… and couldn’t call the house to talk to the hubs about bringing home a puppy. The conversation went a little something like this…
“I know what I want you to say, and I know what you SHOULD say, and I know what we totally DON’T NEED… but they’re cute! And we talked about Bitly needing a sibling/buddy… so do you think this might be what we were waiting for?”
20 minutes later I pulled back into the store parking lot and hopped out with Bitly in tow. I wanted to see if she was going to have a totally adverse reaction a tiny nippy critter… if that was the case then I’d take that as my answer.
5 minutes later, I was leaving with not one, but 2 dogs in tow!
They’re still aren’t quite certain of each other, but they’re getting more comfortable with each other as time goes on. Bitly has basically been an only child for 2 years, and I wasn’t sure how she’d do welcoming a “younger sibling”. *fingers crossed & knock on wood* That she makes this transition smoothly!
Stay tuned, because there are sure to be a tons of puppy adorableness on Snapchat and Instagram and probably here on the blog 🙂
