So I got a new Tattoo…

If you follow me on instagram, then you probably noticed I got a new tattoo 🙂 Hubs arranged it as an early birthday present! Such a sweet man! I’ve wanted a bird on my ankle for quite a while and we’d talked about getting it done a number of times. We’d even taken an image of something I liked to Luke at Stronghold Ink. Luke is CRAZY talented! If you’re in the market for a new tattoo and you’re anywhere near the Dallas area, its worth driving an hour north to get your work done. Seriously.

I love this little bird. LOVE! I couldn’t be happier with what Luke drew for me or the tattoo itself. Wanna see some of the process?

I am of the belief that if you’re going to put something permanent on your body, there needs to be a good reason behind it! Hubs and I have been going through some crazy ups and downs when it comes to finances lately. Switching companies and starting new jobs wreaked havoc on our savings. To the point where there are none. Now we’re once again in the midst of financial turmoil and relying completely on God to provide.

The reason behind choosing a bird for my newest Tattoo can be found in the bible. Matthew 6: 25 to 34 talks about the cure for worry: relying on God. “Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?” This tattoo is my constant reminder of God’s care and to leave the worrying up to him… and I definitely need a constant reminder lately.

So I look at this amazing piece of art on my body, and remember that God loves me, cares for me and has amazing things in store… I just have to trust him!

PS. Do me a favor and go like Stronghold Ink’s facebook page 🙂

All I can say is ouch. I pass out during blood draws and allergy shots, you won't see me getting one of these but I think they're really cool for people who can stand the pain!!!!!!! You go girl. =)
