One of my favorite ways to relax at the end of a long, busy day is hand embroidery. There is something so calming and peaceful about just sitting and stitching. If you share my love for hand embroidery you’ll totally understand 🙂 If you’ve never tried it then I definitely recommend that you do! And to make it easy, I’m sharing a free pattern for this DIY Hoop Art!

Do Small Things With Great Love Hoop Art - BusyBeingJennifer.com #101HandmadeDays

So I’m not going to go into all of the technical stuff when it comes to hand embroidery, when there are so many great tutorials out there already! In fact I have a pinterest board full of awesome hoop art ideas, hand embroidery and tutorials, that can help you figure out just about anything 🙂 But I do have a fun quote that you can use as a pattern to create a hoop like this one!

Small Things Quote

All you have to do is right click to save the image. Then right click to print it out. Choose the size you want and get to stitchin’! I highly recommend a light box (like this one) for transferring your pattern to fabric and a washable fabric pen (like this one) for tracing your pattern with. If you don’t have a lightbox a window works well too 🙂

Want to learn how to add a crocheted boarder to your embroidery hoop? Come back tomorrow!! I’ll be sharing the instructions in tomorrows 101 Handmade Days post! 🙂

I love the ‘mixed media’ art of this beautiful sign. I love what it says. It says so much. Thanks for posting this. Sharing.
