Amazing Coconut Oil

Most people have heard of olive oil and canola oil, and I bet they have used at least one of them for cooking a meal. Although these are great choices for specific individual uses there is also a much better oil on the market that is healthier, cleaner, and more organic. Coconut oil has made a drastic change in the way that we are cooking dinner and treats for our friends and family. It has even made a huge splash in the restaurant business as well as the beauty industry. One great thing to know about coconut oil is that it is not only for kitchen uses but also for skin care, and weight loss. Coconut oil contains saturated fatty acids, better known as triglycerides, however the ones found in coconut oil is more helpful than harmful. We all know that too much red meats and cheeses can cause bloating and fat build up in the belly, however the fatty acids found in coconut oil, although similar to those found in red meats and cheese, are less damaging since they are of a medium chain triglyceride. Medium chain triglycerides are metabolized in a totally different way making them a healthier choice for your diet and your brain functions. Coconut oil has been known to use those triglycerides to increase energy by processing straight to the liver and by producing ketones it can help with memory loss and brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, and epilepsy.

Research has shown that the most populated countries who consume more than 90% of their fats through coconuts are known to be healthier and show minimal to no signs of heart disease. This is largely contributed to the diet of coconut and coconut oil that they thrive on daily. The reason for this is that coconut oil and coconut increases your energy and calories lost by 5% per day which boils down to 120 average calories lost per day by simply adding a high diet in coconut oil and coconut.

What most people don’t know is that coconut oil kills virus, fungi, and bacteria. A large number of  lauric acid is present in coconut oil which helps fend off many viruses, bacteria, and even fungi’s in our systems, this aids in keeping you healthier and illness free. Once the coconut oil is digested it forms another bacteria killer called monolaurin which when mixed with lauric acid can aid in the destruction of staph infection and yeast infection producing bacteria. These bacteria are known to be very aggressive and with the addition of coconut oil in your body you can pretty much prevent the formation and spread of these bacterial infections.

You think that is amazing, imagine healthier skin, fuller, shinier hair and softer sun protected skin. These are all things that can be accomplished when you add coconut oil to your hair, face, and skin. Coconut oil when used as a sun screen prevents 20% burning and helps aid in the reduction of skin cancers. When you add it to your daily regimen you will see a difference in the texture of your hair and the vibrant glow of your skin. With all the great uses for coconut oil we should all consider adding it to our cabinets in the kitchen and the bathroom.
