What to Pack For a Weekend Getaway Road Trip

Planning an exciting weekend getaway road trip and hoping to have the time of your life? No matter where you plan on going or what you plan on doing, you can make memories, learn new things, and go on exciting adventures while seeing new places.

What to Pack For a Weekend Getaway Road Trip

Before leaving home and heading out on your journey, you need to make sure you have packed all the most essential items required for a weekend getaway road trip.

What to Pack For a Weekend Getaway Road Trip

Comfortable Travel Pillow and Blanket

If you are not doing all the driving throughout the trip, you want to have a comfortable travel pillow to use for times when you start feeling tired. Getting comfortable in a car is entirely possible, but you need to have the right items.

Bring a travel pillow to use for your head and neck, and bring a cozy blanket that will keep you warm when driving with the air conditioner on. If you do not have a travel pillow, consider ordering one from Amazon at a reasonable price before your trip.

Car Phone Charger

Having access to your phone while traveling is a must. You do not want to get stuck with a dead phone battery and no way to charge it.

Make sure you have a car phone charger available to use. If you and the people you are traveling with inside the vehicle do not have the same phone model, you may need to bring a charger for each person to use in the car.

As long as you have a working car phone charger, you never have to worry about dealing with a dead battery.

Plastic Portable Cooler

Bring a portable plastic cooler to have access to cold beverages and other items while you travel. While the ice inside the cooler will eventually melt, you can quickly stop at a store near the road to get more ice and fill your cooler up again.

If you have a cooler, you do not need to worry about making so many stops to get drinks because you will have your own inside the vehicle.

Change of Clothes

Always pack a change of clothes and a pair of pajamas that you can wear at night when you want to feel most comfortable. Even if the getaway road trip is a short one that is only taking place over the weekend, it is still in your best interest to pack extra garments, including underwear, t-shirts, shorts or pants, and socks.

Snacks and Beverages

While you may have plans to stop at some of the different eateries you will come across on your journey, it is still a good idea to pack snacks and beverages for when you want something to drink or something small to eat.

Pack bottles of water, soda, juice, and anything else you might like to drink. As for snacks, bring plenty of non-perishable items, such as crackers, protein bars, trail mix, and even your favorite bag of chips.

What to Pack For a Weekend Getaway Road Trip

When you have plans to go on a weekend getaway road trip, these are some of the things you need to pack and bring with you.

These items will keep you comfortable, keep your phone charged, and keep you satisfied when you want something to drink or snack on between meals. Don’t forget to head to your local dealership to get a tune-up before you head out on your next weekend getaway road trip!
