Fall is finally here, and so are all the amazing events and exciting activities that the season has to offer. If you live in the state of New York, be warned! There’s an overabundance of things for you to do with your family. Take a look at some of the events and places of interest that you will want to visit this fall.

What Every New Yorker Needs to Do This Fall:

American Dream Mega-Mall

In East Rutherford, NJ on October 25th, the long-awaited American Dream Mega-Mall will be the largest mall in the region. How could it possibly be different from any other mall, you might ask? There’s an aquarium, an indoor theme park with coasters, water slides, both ice hockey and skating rinks. The mall also holds the most popular and high-end name brands you won’t find anywhere else.   

Cheer on Your Favorite Team

New York is home to several great ball clubs in the state. Depending on what part of New York you live, cheering on the New York Giants or the New York Jets on any given Sunday, is an awesome way to spend a fall afternoon. If you’re lucky, the bronx bombers or the New York Mets might still be playing for a championship.

Last Chance to Visit Governors Island

Governors Island will be closing by the end of October, so one last visit wouldn’t be a bad idea. The island has excellent views of Manhattan while riding bicycles around, along with other activities and places to eat. Ferry rides only cost $3 a person, while free on the weekends before noon.

A Fall Cruise to Bear Mountain

Going on a Bear Mountain cruise is the best way to see New York in the fall. Not only is the scenery on the river gorgeous, the holds an Oktoberfest with German food, beer and music that are pretty good too.

Autumn Leaves in the Park

Going to one of New York’s parks is a must-do this fall, and of course, the trees look phenomenal. Central Park, Fort Tryon Park ,The Cloisters and Brooklyn’s Prospect Park are among the best parks in New York that has plenty of activities and points of interest to visit.

Halloween Parade in New York City

New York City is already known for its extravagant parades, and Halloween is no different. The Halloween Parade in New York City is spooktacular in the fact that it allows you to be apart of 50,000 in the parade. Dressing up in a Halloween outfit is mandatory.

New York City Wine and Food Festival

The New York City Wine and Food Festival is an event that you need to have marked down on your calendar. On October 10th, 2019, the city gathers to indulge in amazing American foods,  beer, and wine you can enjoy. They even hold a food seminar and wine-tasting for those interested.  

Brooklyn Brewery

How about grabbing a seasonal pumpkin brew or another great beer at the Brooklyn Brewery? They have a large portfolio with a wide range of delicious brews to try. 

Union Square’s Farmers Market

Make sure you check out Union Square’s Farmers Market during the fall. There you will find everything pumpkin. The market has all kinds of pumpkin desserts for you to taste and take home with you.

Queens County Farm

Come check out this harvest-themed event at the Queens County Farm in Queens, New York. There will be pie-eating contests, races, hayrides, arts and crafts and a pumpkin patch where you can pick your own pumpkin. This event takes place from September 26th through October 27th.

These are a number of activities for New Yorkers to do this fall. So take your car for a tune up at your local dealership, and get ready to hit the road for some serious fall fun!
